[/p] PS: Off the subject, but has anyone else noticed a proliferation of what I'd call "scootercycles" around town? They look like probably -100cc Honda clutch-n'-gears motors in open-engine, TEENSY bikes proportioned like the smallest 50cc scooters... Sorta like the old Honda trail-bikes, BUT definitely on-road bikes looking more like scooters than cycles.
Whatever they are, they seem to go like stink from zero to 45 mph, topping out around 50 mph. Very appealing for around town!

A little background on Roketa. Roketa is the brand name of a distributor, namely, Goldenvale Inc. Goldenvale is well known in the dealer community. Actually they could be referred to as a Mega-Distributor. They will go to a manufacturer and make a deal to purchase all of their excess inventory... at a substantial discount. It's a win-win situation. The manufacturer gets cash and Goldenvale can offer various scooters to dealers at attractive pricing. In most cases Goldenvale will have them re-badge the scooter as a "Roketa". So if the dealer knows his vin codes, he can ascertain the original builder ...and their inherent level of their quality.
My recollection is that the majority of 250cc Scooters were/are made by one of the 5 Jonway companies. Znen, is also producing a 250.

Make sure you have a title. Otherwise you might be in possession of a stolen scoot.
We always asked to see the title of any scoot brought to us without keys. We, or I should say the Po-Po, recovered two stolen scoots that way.

"The Honda Super Cub is a Honda underbone motorcycle with a four stroke single cylinder engine ranging in displacement from 49 to 109 cc (3.0 to 6.7 cu in).
In continuous manufacture since 1958 with production surpassing 60 million in 2008, and 87 million in 2014, the Super Cub is the most produced motor vehicle in history".
The SYM Symba is a variant of the Honda Cub and SYM is one of a few companies presently that have permission to produce their version.
SYM Motors of Taiwan licensed the Super Cub design as the Symba 100, previously called the Symba 110, which they exported to the US. While keeping the basic design, SYM increased the size of the front brake from 110 to 130 mm, and added an LED fuel gauge. Instead of leading link front forks, it uses telescopic forks. The Symba engine has a carbureted 101.4 cc single claimed to produce 6.5 hp at 8500 rpm, with a four speed gearbox using a centrifugal clutch semi-automatic transmission.

I don't know about Nevada, but in PA it's a motor vehicle, and the last thing you want to be tangled up in is legal woes.
Call the cops and see what they say.... and document it.

All of these scoots are well known for their reliability. With all things being considered, I think it boils down to the dealership factor. Personally, I'm cheap, and was a former SYM dealer and a grand buys a lot of nice accessories.
