If it MUST be designated LU......the only viable choice I see are the Honda models labeled LU.
If you like the mc look...I recommend the Bintelli Beast.

Remember...I was the non-techical partner.
1. Haven't figured out how to access the engine yet.
2. no idea.
3. Certainly looks like a GY6.

ok....moot point.
I've seen and worked on KYMCO quality; as well as numerous Chinese manufacturers. The best Chinese I've seen is CFMOTO. Too bad their management style and truthfulness is sub-par.
I'd probably still go with the KYMCO.

So it's been awhile since I wrenched on any scooters, but I figured I give my newly acquired KYMCO People S 200 some new fluids. Oil change was weird....I swear the old oil had a red tint to it. Not sure if it was original since I acquired the scoot with only 123 miles on it, abet being a 2009. Anyways....a new fill of Castrol 10W-40 4 cycle motorcycle oil. On to the gear oil.... no problem other than me trying to put gear oil into the wrong hole !! Doah!! Used to be a snap... remove fill plug, remove drain bolt, drain oil, replace drain bolt, add 90w gear oil til it starts dripping out of the fill hole, replace fill plug/bolt.
No so easy on a KYMCO People.... that sucker just keeps taking gear oil. Must hold damn near a quart of gear oil.
Re-Read manual, drain fresh gear oil, measure out exactly 180 cc's of gear oil, fill and replace fill plug/bolt.

I really like KYMCO and was offered the franchise "back in the day". I went with SYM because I felt they were more dialed in for the independent scooter shop. The thing with KYMCO is that they want their dealers to take on the entire line, which is certainly reasonable, but their line-up is extensive ( read: expensive). The other thing is that they introduce and retire models faster than I change underwear. But above all..their reputation for quality is rock solid and well deserved.

I agree....but there is a longing in my heart to just pull the trigger and buy the sucker. In another post I announced that I have become the new owner of a KYMCO People S 200. Nice little bike....but I forgot to do my research and realize now that it's really only 163cc's. I am starting to subscribe to the theory that the perfect scooter size is in the 350cc range. Small enough to just hop on and go, but big enough to take onto the interstate.
