And I didnt like it!!! I have a much less refined and cheaper ssr zuma clone thats a 150 and ride with a buddy who has a real 125 zuma. although his fuel injection is nice and gives smoother throttle response through all the revs. I couldnt stand tbe steering it feels both heavy and twitchy. Just not steady at all. Much harder to hold a good line with. The steering on mine feels much steadier and stable through the line like a traditional motorcycle. I think my bike has a longer wheelbase as his floorboard was more cramped, and im not even a tall dude only 5-6. Despite the more refined engine and good build quality of his I actually prefer mine in terms of how it rides, and its also much cheaper and easier to modify.
Just some observations I made. The real zuma was prettt nice, I thought when I got on it would blow me away witb its quality but I wasnt all that impressed. Only thing I liked was the smoothness of the fuel injection. its no doubt more reliable, but since im pretty mechanically inclined and view working on my scoot as a hobby I dont mind the gy6. Chinese bikes arent all that bad:) as long as you know what youre getting in to. Im personally glad I got the clone it suits me better than the yamaha, and the price suits me better too lol. Anyone else wana comment on their ride quality chinese lr otherwise?

I noticed you said "Buddy" and I do agree the Clones "can be" just as good. Reliability and factory Warranty make for a real nice ownership experience ( for a price ) Ever tried a Genuine Buddy? Now that is a scooter ( seriously ) Most ANY ride can be dialed in to personal preference--- Are you willing to do the diagnostics and testing or, get what you want out of the box. Work for what you want or pay the price upfront........

I have not ridden a Zuma/BWS but I love my clone. Not to mention parts are everywhere for the GY6 based Chinese scoots and at a reasonable price, not the jacked up mainstream scoot price. Upgrades are economical too.

Lol ive never tried a buddy. I see em around town all the time though. Most people in my town have ancient honda elites or newish buddys.Im not too big a fan of the vespa body style really which takes a lot of rly good riding scooters off my list. I dont like the look of most sporty or maxi scoots either. I guess I like the more rugged and minimalistic ones. what I like about my gy6 is being able to cheaply modify to keep me occupied I enjoy researching and working on it. From wbat my friend tells me for his zuma the prices for parts are outrageous and the price he pays for fuel injection is having to get it illegally remapped and such which few mechanics round here will do. Seems like a chore. I love the simplicity of china scoots and tbe dirt cheap price of parts.

Heck, You could add EFI to your clone and still be cheaper than the real deal...... that would take up some time and research So, we all agree. China scooters rule!!!!!!!!! (now if we could just get some better body styles)

The zuma and ruckus clones are good lookin Imo. But I agree that a lot of body styles are kinda lame. I like the ruckus clone because it comes set up modified with all the goodies like a 150gy6 that stretches It out and a fat tire, low seat, light mods etc. all of which ruckus people spend thousands on, and all that on top of the ridiculous sticker price for the honda. I think its brand snobbery and bragging rights to have the real ruckus because its a "honda" even though they swap a china motor into it lol that or they just got money to throw around. maybe the frame is better but not like over 2k better lol. Id love a real ruckus to swap a gy6 into and stretch etc...just not at the price.

That always makes me laugh when the Ruckus crowd buy the Honda for the name and then realize that they need more power. Well Chinese GY6 clone to the rescue, but they would not be caught dead buying a, dare I say it, Chinese scooter! Well at least it still says Honda on the title.......

Personally,
I am NOT a fan of the Ruckus/Zuma style but, I do LOVE the Naked/ Streetfighter look though...... (I'm a bit weird that way)
(I would like to carry a lock and chain when I ride too)
Lot's of sexy rides are stretched out and modded but, not exactly Daily drivers and almost begging to get pulled over at any time..
Just my humble ramblings.......
IMO the US needs something new, Or, just something the Taiwanese have had for years..... Reliable, cheap, and road worthy with a decent community for moddification advice.....

I have a Zuma. It's been parked for 2 years, since I got my Chinese scoot. I like my Jonway better.
