howdy, yup, been there done that paladin. i just finnished a 960 mile round trip and found with standard seating i could go about 70 miles then had to stop every 30 or so after that. second tank in a day i stop every rest area and under every tree here in the high desert. then on the way back i took off the seat bolster that was forcing me too far forward and found i could get an extra 3 inches or so of legroom by turning toes out and goind further ahead with my heels in more of a cruiser style seating. much improved comfort so can go a full 150 mile tankful if needed though like to stop at half a tank and smell the roses---er cactus.
we had a harley show here in salem last week and i looked longingly at those electronic cruise controls----

howdy dash and congrats' on the kymco. i had their 250 and was pleased with the 8,000 trouble free miles it gave me and it probably is still going strong. it got me back on wheels after 8 years of total disability. i don't know that is why you were without a motor but if so this should be good---and reliable. i still couldn't walk far if it stopped out in the boonies. anyway--

howdy crawdad, here's hoping you can get out soon and the ice bear helps overcome the balencing issues so you can travel. i found a friend here that has a yamaha tw200 and we could maybe come down to that place you mentioned on broadway and pine. i have some other motorcycle friends that might meet with us also. let me know when you can get out.

howdy and welcome, i don't have any idea on the manuals but ride the new piaggio bv350 and just returned from a 960 mile round trip across the state of oregon and back and find them to be relatively reliable which is a good thing since many of their dealers have given up and closed .

DX howdy, i'll say that in general i agree with what scootnwinn though not necessarily how it was said. i checked my sidewall and surprisingly found the wording not how i remember from other auto applications which say pressure at max load not max pressure. the point being that with tires that say pressure at max load that is not actually the max pressure for which the tire is designed but the pressure at which it supports loads the best.. that being said, i still say that the pressures listed in your manual may not be scientifically derived but based on seat of the pants ride impressions,, that is the pressure at which you(the customer)are most likely to feel the ride is most pleasant.
now to the actual surprise i found on my michelin tires was the statement "made in serbia"-----?

howdy, i run air pressure at max load designation on the sidewall because i'm heavy. with lighter rider maybe come off that by a couple pounds.

howdy, all the ones i've had were knuckle skinners. it does make it easier in center stand with the shock extended as far as possible. on one i hadi could use a screwdriver forced in the notch and wedged against the extruded part. on another i could grab the collar with my hand and turn it. on the piaggios there is a supplied spanner but even that is difficult to position where you get enough movement to change the preload. one could try the filter strap wrench wrapped around the collar.

howdy, i'm surprised that someone didn't jump in and say that a reading of 12 volts indicates either a bad battery or insuficient charge condition. it should read 12.7 at no load. i could be wrong, but that's my story.

howdy and welcome - i would think that if you can ride at less than wide open throttle you should be safe so if it will cruise at 55 but you drop it to mostly 45 it will do fine. as far as parts and such, i mostly have someone i could call to come get me and the scoot so would carry little more than a small set of tools and a credit card---and phone. but that's me
