Installing a Uni-filter from the regular air box? If so up jet the main jet by 5 and play with the air mixture screw. Is the fuel filter in a different position from where it was? It sounds like it is starving for fuel.

Not that i have ever done this. But. Did you put the coil wire back on the spark plug?

Performance cam? Standard airbox? Check your spark plug. #80 for a 52mm sounds lean. With a 52mm set up u have plenty more to get out of it. Now the fun begins. How much r you willing to put into it to get all you can out of it. Performance exhaust will help also.

Changing the jet is a great call. Did you get the "goop" out of the tank, filter and fuel line? I am guessing a four stroke. A valve adjustment might help. Check your air filter and spark plug.

Because the bike is so new you might want to do a complete PM. Pay special attention to the fuel lines and vacuum hoses. Make sure there r no kinks, clamps on all of them. New bikes sometimes come with hoses that are to long and can kink once they get warm. Check your gas cap and make sure it is getting ventilation. Lack of vacuum can stop gas flow. It sounds like a fuel flow issue. Next I would check your valves. They could be tight. The heat from running the bike expands the metal and closes the gap. Welcome to the Scooter world!

Check your valve lash gap. Spark? Fuel flow? Ground? Was it running before you did the work?

Reg question I don't know. If u r worried about the draw of power, change the running light/ brake light to an Led also. Parts for scooters has them. That should more than free up power distribution. LED's draw far less power. Bright lights save lifes.

Cleaning the carb might not be a bad idea also. Small jets clog easily

It is light weight metal. Wire snips to each side. Twist back and forth with needle nose pliers and pull. No shards, no sparks and no tank removal. Takes maybe 2 min.

On a Tao Tao it is a disc attached to the frame. 3 hoses. 1 from the tank. Pinch this off with vise grips. Otherwise you will have gas all over quick like. 2 is from the intake to the pepcock. 3 Pepcock to carb. If it is not sucking gas check the hose from the intake to the pepcock. A hole or crack will prevent suction and give the appearance it is no functioning. Good Luck.

When u adjusted the valves; were you at the T? Have you physically looked in the gas tank? Does it have gas? Fuel floats r sometimes inaccurate. Open the throttle and give it a couple of puffs of starter fluid. Close the throttle and try to fire it up. If it runs and dies you probably need a new carb with at least a 78 main jet. Spark + Air + Gas = Fire.

I would still lube the cable with a penetrating oil such as PB Blaster. If you have water freezing the cable you have water rusting it.

Try taking out the air restrictor on the intake to your air box. If you get more hesitation you r getting to much air. At which time put it back in and tape off 2 of the holes. See what happens.
Also at 20km you r not even close to it being broken in. Your engine is the tightest it is ever gonna be.
Most engines run lean in cold dry air. You will see a big difference from 80 and sunny to 32 cold and dry air.
