Okay...here we go. I have a Peace Sports VIP 50cc. Usually, when she first starts up, she's a little slow and it's hard to get her above 25mph. But as I ride she warms up and gets up to a normal 35mph. As I was riding to school the other day, I realized that not only was she not speeding/warming up, she seemed to be gradually losing power and speed. At the next stoplight, she cut out completely and I had to pull off the road. Wouldn't start again. I spent the next four hours in the Advance Auto Parts parking lot borrowing all sorts of tools and pretty much disassembling and reassembling everything that I knew how to do, which ain't much. The manager of the store also tried to help me to no avail. We changed the spark plug, I adjusted the valves, cleaned out the fuel filter, and hooked it up to a jump box...none of this got her fired up again and I ended up having to walk her back home. Needless to say, I never made it to class. The manager, Sam, determined that she had spark but that it seemed she wasn't getting fuel to the chamber. This is also very similar to what happened to my old scoot, which still doesn't work and is now being cannibalized for parts...is there anyone who is familiar with my situation that can point me in the right direction to get her running again? I can't have another scoot die.

You mention that the valves were adjusted, what where they adjusted to? Also how did he check for SPARK?
Make sure the Vacuum hose on the INTAKE MANIFOLD going to your PETCOCK is not ripped or cracked or maybe came off. Without Vacuum to the petcock it will not allow fuel to flow to the carb. Take the fuel hose off the Carb and put it in a container and crank the motor over. Fuel should stream out into the container. If fuel does not come out it Then see if fuel is getting to the PETCOCK from the tank. It could also be the tanks outlet is clogged with something. Let me know if fuel flows when you crank it. Try a new cdi, they quit all the time without warning.

When u adjusted the valves; were you at the T? Have you physically looked in the gas tank? Does it have gas? Fuel floats r sometimes inaccurate. Open the throttle and give it a couple of puffs of starter fluid. Close the throttle and try to fire it up. If it runs and dies you probably need a new carb with at least a 78 main jet. Spark + Air + Gas = Fire.

In my opinion a problem like that is most likely fuel related. Electrical issues are typically on or off. In other words electrical components either work or they don't (maybe intermittently sometimes). This isn't always the case I understand, but more often than not......

It has been a few days, have you managed to start it or make any progress? If not, be patient and start ruling out potential causes. You'll make fewer mistakes if you take your time and slowly follow everything.
Also, if you follow the right steps and figure out how to get this scoot running, you may be able to fix the other scooter you have too. Don't give up!
