I have a 2007 TGB Laser 150cc scooter with an issue. Took it to a meeting this evening and it ran fine most of the way there, but the headlight went out about halfway. I figured no problem, I'm only 10 minutes from home and there are streetlights all the way back. But when I started the scooter up after the meeting first the throttle wouldn't move. I used a little more force and it roared wide open. Now I can't get it unstuck. It goes full throttle every time I turn it on, and I can't get any response from the throttle, its completely loose. I tried seeing if the carburetor throttle cable gap had a bolt loose, but that's not the case this time. So what can I try next?

The plastic throttle grip that holds the cable in the slot either came off and is stuck or the plastic broke: Alleyoop

Attempt to take off your throttle cable and try to spray wd-40 in it. Might even get unstuck before you take it off if your lucky but thats not always the case.

Good news, I left the scooter sitting while it warmed up above freezing today, and the throttle now works just fine. The headlight and gas gas/speedometer lights aren't coming on though, so I still have to resolve that problem.

Ok, update, its not the throttle itself, I took it apart and the cable doesn't move if the temperature is below freezing for a few hours, but everything else looks right. I'm guessing water got into the throttle cable and is freezing it in place, so I need to fix that.... as soon as it stops snowing for a while.

That was just to show the OP how the throttle cable fits and works in the handgrip, They are work the same way, there is a slot were the Lead ball or square fits into to hold the cable and it wraps around a slot on the control wheel. Pretty simple design Just like the throttle control wheel on the carbs sameo sameo. Alleyoop

I would still lube the cable with a penetrating oil such as PB Blaster. If you have water freezing the cable you have water rusting it.

WD-40 is a good way to lube the cable, after all, it stands for "Water Displacement formula 40".
