Looks like the bowl is overflowing, check the float, it might be stuck in the open position. I'll do that, thank you.

Hey all,
I've been trying to fix my 2002 honda elite 80 over the past few months, and I finally figured out that some idiot who had it before had done some irreparable damage to the carb, and I bought a new one. I just threw it one today, and It started up for about 10 seconds, but then it suddenly shut off, and wouldn't start. I tried to turn it over, when I noticed that there was fuel leaking from the air filter box, something I've never seen before.
I drained the carb, opened the air filer box, took out the air filter, and tried starting eveything again, and it just spilled fuel out of the air intake of the carb.
I'm not sure what is going on. It's a new carb (or so the eBay seller says), and I know that it's not a problem with anything else on the scooter (by tweaking the old carb, I could get it to run until I let go of it).
What's going on?

Just replaced the starter an hour ago, and it starts up beautifully!
So, if your scooter has started to be a tad bit harder and harder to start, taking more and more time to really turn over, and eventually just quits, check the starter. Mine was filled to the brim with oil.

Hey, quick question. My scooter won't turn over. I've charged the battery up to full power, and when I go to turn it over, it won't turn over, It just "clicks" like the battery is dead (at one point, even tried to jump it with a sedan- still just a click). I researched and figured that it's either the starter or the solenoid that's having problems, and I'm pretty sure it's the starter, but I wanted to make sure. I've done the test where I touch both poles of the solenoid to a screwdriver, it sparks, but it still doesn't turn over.
Is there anything else I should check before ordering a new starter?
Thanks!

Also, just thought of this: make double sure that your spark plug cord is ALL the way on the spark plug. I had problem where I didn't do that, and acted up sort of like you had.

I'd still go with checking the valves. Make sure they are at the right valve lash.
Also, if you haven't already, make sure you have tuned your carb properly.

So I cleaned tha carb again, no luck. There doens't seem to be any vaccum leaks anywhere.
When I put the carb back in, it started up, and I had to coax it to stay running. Today, the same thing happened: hard to start and keep running. I went for a ride on it. After I rode it for about 30 minutes, I let it sit, and it idled fantastically. I turned it off, then back on, and it started right up, not problems.
Is there anything you know that would make it hard to start and idle, but then run fine and idle fine after its been warmed up?

Hey everyone,
So I finally got my honda elite 80 running the other day, and ive got a problem. When I first got it running, it would die when I gave it gas. Let it sit overnight, and then the problem was gone when I went to work on it the next morning. I repaired a hole in the fuel line, and it was running beautifully. I came out to ride it the next day (today), and again, it now dies when I give it gas (and it took forever to start). Any ideas on what is wrong?

Get yourself a new stator and rectifier, for sure. That's what the problem sounds like. If the battery is not charging, it's one of those. If you have a voltmeter, you can check to see which one it is by seeing what kind of current it being supplied by the stator, if it was being converted properly by the rectifier, and if you have problems connecting it to your battery. I had the same problem, and it turned out to be my stator. It wasn't much to fix it, thankfully There are really great videos on this under the "videos" section of this forum.

This might be something you've thought of before, but I had this problem once before, and it was because I has adjusted the part of the car that that attached to the throttle cable to be too tight. This meant that I got to much fuel, which made my idling scooter try to move forward.

Hye everyone! guess what! I had pulled apart the carb again, and i noticed something that I missed: the pilot jet (honda calls it slow jet) was TOTALLY plugged up. Like, really bad. I tried to clean it out there, but ended up soaking it in carb cleaner overnight, and then running old guitar strings through it to clear the junk out. I put it back in today, hooked the tiny battery up to my wife's car battery, and cranked it over until it sputtered, sputtered, and started!!!!!! Such a good feeling.
Now, I have to figure out how to keep it idling properly when I stop. I'll be adjusting those valves next, and maybe looking into another carb tune-up.
Thanks for the support!!!

Fixed the not turning off issue, but still have the hard to start issue, but when I get it running it idles great runs like a champ, just the starting up, will a blown head do that hard to start but runs if successful in starting it,. Can't understand the problem, please help First thing I would do is check out the jets on the carb. You might have jets that don't work well in the winter months. I'd also replace the petcock, because that can be a troublemaker and it only costs a few dollars. If that dont worj, and if you have the skill to do it, I would try pulling off the cylinder head and the cylinder and inspecting it. You might have something messing with the valves (maybe small bits of debris).

I see what you mean. Good idea! I don't really care about cosmetics of a bike (bobber style looks good to me, honestly) so I'll get some reflective tape and cover the dagum thing in it.
I'll look into what you said about those lights. Thank you!
Anyone else is welcome to reply.

Hey everyone! Kreider here. I almost got hit by a car turing left at a green light because they didn't see me , so I'm putting in some new headlight bulbs into my 2007 roketa 150cc. I was wondering if you have any recommendations on the best bulbs to buy for them. I'd personally love some LED bulbs (small profile+big lights= better profile), but I'm open to anything. The kind hat I need are 3 prong plug-in style, 12V 18/18W. Let me know what you think are the best ones! I'm curious to find out.
