Hey all,
I've been trying to fix my 2002 honda elite 80 over the past few months, and I finally figured out that some idiot who had it before had done some irreparable damage to the carb, and I bought a new one. I just threw it one today, and It started up for about 10 seconds, but then it suddenly shut off, and wouldn't start. I tried to turn it over, when I noticed that there was fuel leaking from the air filter box, something I've never seen before.
I drained the carb, opened the air filer box, took out the air filter, and tried starting eveything again, and it just spilled fuel out of the air intake of the carb.
I'm not sure what is going on. It's a new carb (or so the eBay seller says), and I know that it's not a problem with anything else on the scooter (by tweaking the old carb, I could get it to run until I let go of it).
What's going on?

Looks like the bowl is overflowing, check the float, it might be stuck in the open position.

What he said,,,there's either a piece of machining chip or something between the needle and seat or the needle itself is not seating,,,,may have gotten knocked out of alignment during shipping
