Vacuum gauge may help, really helps if you have a no idle issue. If it is lifted higher it goes richer. So you move the Jesus clip down.

What Bike is it.? Where's the wiring diagram? The lighting coil feeds power to the yellow wire to the lights and to a shunt regulator. The coil can produce excessive voltage if not regulated. The regulator shorts out the excessive voltage to ground. A zener diode does the regulating by its reverse bias voltage setting. 12.6 volts. once the zener conducts it turns on a triac (SCR silicon controlled rectifier) that grounds the circuit for that pulse and regulating the output voltage.. This happens on every pulse of power.
If you run with the regulator disconnected you blow out all the lights/tack/whatever is in the circuit. So that's a nono. You can unplug the stator wires and run test on the coil that way.
In the case where the light go bright the power for this effect is coming from the rear lights and the battery. It's a backfeed.
the bike is split in 2 electrical systems. AC for lighting and DC for battery. When you hit the brakes you are connecting both AC and DC systems togather briefly. That's whats up.
The original issue is too much draw / or a bad ground/or a melted connector somewhere/ a defected (open) diode. Welcome to the club.. Have a Drink.

did you check/inspect the rear pulley for wear/loose/wobble/excessive slider bearing clearance. That is suspect number 1 worn bearing surface too much wobble.
These things don't hold up past 4000 miles very well. The grease dries out and water gets in and they go bad real fast. Sucks basically, but it is the way they are.

look at the headlight lamp (s) see if both high and low are on at the same time. This will cause to big a load on the ac coil and it will limit the power to 65 watts. If both filiments are on the load will be in excess of 65 watts and the result is a low voltage condition because the coil acts like an inductor. If you ask the coil for too much power it simple can't produce it. Nothing burns up, it regulates itself. It is ingenious, by design because it wont start a fire. It is like the best of both worlds. So you are looking for a power consumption issue. Something is drawing too much power. Find it. First clue is take out one lamp if you have duals. then try take out the other one. see if the bulb is shorted or the contacts are touching making the high and low come on together. You are not the first one to see this. Someone else had the same issue a while back. It is wierd. <strong> Don't ever run bike with the regulator unplugged.</strong>

The rule in the Sailing Community is, Sell it and you can always buy another one. Scarf them up on CL. whatever. You would be surprised how much stuff you don't need.
Hit CL for local housing it is the bomb.
Is HostGator and 1freehosting the same. I heard/saw somewhere where gator hosting was 1freehosting, or 1freehosting was a beta for gator, U know what I mean.
1freehosting died out, I used them for Wordpress and as a cloud for pictures. They probably cut me off being there 2 years and not spending any money,,Ha Ha..
A tech rep for newbees on php scripts and all that jazz sounds like a pain but someone has to do it, Better than GoDaddy.. HaHa

What he said + modify profile fillin password avator set size to 100x100 add image from server with short code like for signature make a picture to the correct size like 600x150 or 700x200 ,u get the idea, crop put it on your server. link to it. with bbshorty code (bulliten Board short code) you have to figure out where to put images Image Shacks' clouds' whatever' like "photobucket" do have links all ready set up copy and paste them. Their easyer than setting up u'r own server but that aint no FUN I use GIMP for the image work and a public server for the images, and I still don't yell at my chihuahuas..

That's normal. the scooter is not really a scooter, you think it is but it is a Metatron Cube energy field altered state transport machine.,, So it is not what it seems..

Soak it with fluid film. Kickstarter that is, It will hold up if you go easy on it.
Don't run it with the regulator unpluged, unplug it at the stator to check for power. Check it at the regulator with it pluged in. If you run it with the regulator unpluged you will fry all the lamps and tack and well you get the idea, You don't need them anyway.
