OK, I have been idling rough since the start of the riding season. I changed plugs but it did not seem to help. I noticed the plug was black and wet. The wet came from my carb that was not tight. That has been fixed. I went and bought 2 new plugs. I put one in and ran the scooter for 45 seconds. Turned off the scoot and re-checked the plug and it was jet black again. I am not exaggerating it was only for 45 seconds.--I know I must be running rich...but damn....45 seconds!!! I moved the ratio screw out to 1.5 turns from tight and still getting a black plug. How far out can I safely turn the ratio screw on the carb? --I like my idle around 1800 RPMs. I have noticed there are times while idling that my RPMs will jump up and my bike will move forward by itself (not a good thing).
Any ideas??

[replyingto=chihuahuas]chihuahuas[/replyingto]Well I did not know that is why I asked on this board. Come to think of it, while I was cleaning the carb the float actually fell out of the carb. Not knowing I just re attached and then put the carb back together again. I will try this.
