Hello,
I have a 2011 Kymco Super 8 and I LOVE it!!! So I would naturally recommend you go with the Super 8. I have over 4,500 miles on mine and I never had any trouble. Believe it or not, I check my valves every month or so and I still have not had to adjust them at all. It is just an awesome bike....and quite a bit of power!

well the biding now up to $200 so I think I will pass. It is tempting though.

Ok...that would explain the knobby tires I am still rather interested in it as a project (not that I need another one). Any thoughts on what is a good bidding price? Also...I am wondering how hard it would be to find parts for it. --Jim

Hello All, A local auction house near me is currently having a bunch of online auctions and one of the items has me really interested. It is a 1976 Yamaha Champ. I know very little about it and they don't even know if it runs. I do believe it is 72cc's though. The current bid is $60 so I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or knowledge to share. What would be a good price to bid? or should I stay away from this project? If I did it correctly, the link below should show you the scooter. Any thoughts would be really appreciated. --Jim auctions.alderferauction.com//Full//845/50456845.jpg

you might want to consider checking out a Kymco Super 8. I have a 2011 and I LOVE it! I never had any kind of problem with it and it is also pretty damn fast.

The fact that he posted it is an invitation for feedback whatever it may be...the good, the bad and the ugly. Thats how it works! Some pepole dont like mine, oh well thats the way it goes. I post it and let the comments fall where they may. These are his own words.... "Here is a video of my 50cc to 150cc conversion scooter. It started out as one of those STUPID SILLY gay looking 50's retro styles. I Schwab Shop Custom styled it ..."" Well it sure aint gay no more! I agree with you 100% but someone still insists on saying that I am bashing or blasting the scooter owner and putting down his scoot. I however was just stating my opinion. Heck...several weeks ago the UPS driver stopped by my work to drop off some packages and he told me that my scooter looked feminine. I was pissed at his comment but what could I do? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. --Jim

I don't recall giving him crap about his scooter...just stating my opinion. I don't think he was offended.

I just got finished digging and creating a fish pond in my backyard. It is a rather small one, about 200 gallons, but it was hard work. I have about 10 goldfish / koi in it as well as a few frogs and snails. I enjoyed creating it so much that I am now planning an addition to it for next year.

I have always stuck to the policy and rule that if I am drinking in my house I stay in my house and don't even attempt to drive until the next day. If I am drinking outside my house I never drink more than 2 drinks unless I plan on staying at this location overnight. I have always stuck to this policy and so far it has kept me out of trouble. There are many alchoholics in my family so I have learned alot from their mistakes.
I honestly don't think I could live with myself knowing that I took someone else's life while driving drunk. The guilt would destroy me. Taking other people's life during the Gulf War has effected me enough as it is.

Hank,
I am really sorry to hear that you were again the victim of scooter thieves. I hope they catch the scum who stole your scooter but I have my doubts.

I currently pay $144 per year for my scooter insurance and it was this same rate when I first started riding scooters about 5 years ago. I am shocked at how high the rate quotes are that your boyfriend got. Perhaps insurance in Canada is just more than here in the U.S. ? I have my insurance through State Farm and I know that I get a discount because I also have my car, my wives car and our homeowners insurance through them. I also believe that I get a discount because I pay monthly rather than quarterly.
I think you should continue to look around as I think you should be able to find better rates.
Also...I may be wrong but I think that most insurance companies offer a discount if you take and pass the safety course but than again that just be just here in the states.

I am very interested in this suggestion of using a rare earth magnet. There are several stop lights on the way to work that will not change for me. Does anyone else have any experience in this working? If so, what is the best way and location to attach the magnet to my scoot?

I was about to ask the same question. My Kymco Super 8 has over 4,200 miles on it and it still doesn't need a valve adjustment. I have checked numerous times and it is always dead on.
