I got pulled over on my Kymco Super 8 by a state trooper and he said he said that his radar had me going 67 MPH. I was just testing my scooter to see what it could do...I rarely push it that far. Luckily the trooper was a fellow shipmate of mine from the Navy and he said he would pretend that the whole incident never happened. --Jim Hey, THAT'S one fast scoot!I recently test-rode a Kymco "Like" 200, and was really impressed with it, and by the Super 8 styling. Kymco has a BUNCH of neat scooters, with some STRANGE names... I'm thinking that the Like, and the Super 8 are a little bigger than a 150... Something around 160-170cc and fuel-injected. If so, it would account for their performance edge over the Chinese carbureted 150's. If I can save my pennies, I would like to upgrade to a Kymco. Trouble is, I can't make up my mind whether I prefer the Italian-style, or the sport-style like yours. Both are VERY neat! And a BIG upgrade from a Chinese 150. Maybe by the time I can afford one, I'll have made up my mind which one I like best... LOL! Watch out for Smokey on that little hot-rod!Leo in Texas Actually Leo...the Super 8 is not fuel injected...it has a carb. --Jim

Thanks for the kind words everyone...I saw the UPS driver again today and I was tempted to say something but I decided to be the bigger man and not even acknowledge his ignorance...therefore I won. --Jim

Hello All...so I drove my scooter to work yesterday despite the on and off rain. A few hours later the UPS driver comes for a drop off and asks our warehouse manager who the scooter belongs to. Upon hearing that it belonged to a guy, the driver announces that I must be effeminate for riding such a girlish scooter!!! Now I wasn't around when he said this but upon being told about it I wasn't too pleased...kinda felt like giving him a piece of my mind.
So be honest everyone...does my scooter really look girlish or was this UPS driver just being a douche bag?

NEW TIRES
by: loganhes - Apr 11, 2013 10:24:25 GMT -5
Post by loganhes on Apr 11, 2013 10:24:25 GMT -5
motorcyclesuperstore website has the rear but as for the front i am having trouble locating it. That is the same problem I am having. The rear is easier to find than the front. Is my front tire size (100/80-14 ) that uncommon? I checked partsforscooter.com and they don't have them either. I know I could order new tires directly from Kymco BUT I was hoping to get better quality ones. --Jim

Hello All...
I have started to look for new tires for my Kymco Super 8 and so far I am having trouble finding tires in my size. I was hoping I could get some suggestions. I know that this has been discussed many times on the old forum but I thought I would get some new perspectives. My tire sizes are:
front - 100/80 - 14 rear - 120/80 - 14

ok everyone...the Kymco dealership just called me back and my scooter is fixed. I am rather embarrased to say what it was. It turns out the only thing wrong with the scooter was a very kinked and twisted fuel line. I looked over the scooter thoroughly and I never even noticed it ! Oh well....I guess that is why they are the specialists. The good news is that the scooter is back to running awesome again!!!
