Sounds like either the fuel pettcock is going bad or you could have a vaccum leak somewhere. The fuel filter is full of gas so I am assuming that if the petcock was bad this wouldn't be happening....am I correct? Also, I am almost positive that my scooter had a fuel pump. --Jim

Ok...I would like to get some thoughts from my fellow scooter peeps in regards to my scoter issue.
Yesterday morning I began my 10 minute ride to work on my scooter (2011 Kymco 150cc Super 8). I got a few miles from my house when the scooter started to sputter and it eventually stopped running completely. Now the day before I changed the fuel filter so right away I assumed that perhaps I installed the new filter incorrectly. I removed the seat to check and saw that it was installed correctly. I then tried to start the scooter to return home and it started right up. However it sputtered and died again about a mile later. After finally making it home I took the battery to the dealer to have it checked and they told me that it was dead (2 years old). I bought a new one knowing that this was likely not the cause of the scooter dying. I installed the new battery and it ran great for a few miles again before sputtering and dying. I gave up and had the dealer pick the scooter up and bring it to their shop for repair. It is still under warranty so I am hoping that whatever is wrong with it will be covered. So I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to what could be wrong with it? I was thinking perhaps the fuel pump ?...thoughts?.....sorry for being so long winded.

nice looking scooters !
I am not really into pink, but I have to have that I like the pink on the 1st scooter...it looks like it has a matte finish to it.
The paint job on the 2nd scoter is really cool.

How's the pay & benefits ? Do I get a 401K plan?
Just kidding TerriLee...I would do it if I could find more time to devote to being more active on this forum. However I have so many projects going on around the house that I barely have time for anything else.
I do however want to wish you a speedy return and please stay safe.

Loganes, What are you expecting out of a Performance CDI? The performance CDI's have the timing a little advanced about 3 degrees, what that does is the plug fires earlier as it is going up on the compression stroke rather than closer to reaching top dead center. It gets a little more power out of the motor. Alleyoop To be honest with you, nothing is wrong with my scooter and it runs great. I am just sitting here waiting for the weather to improve so I can start riding again and my brain is working overtime. A thought just popped into my brain that perhaps I could change out my OEM CDI with a performance one and see what improvements I could gain. However I am now thinking that perhaps I should just leave it the way it is. --Jim

doubt it will make 114 dollar difference I am thinking the same thing. Scrappydog Scooter sells on for $29.99 but I am wodering what the quality is like as that is a huge difference in price. --Jim

thank you...I am suprised at how expensive they are though. $114.00 is rather high. Perhaps I need to rethink if a performance CDI will make that much of difference to justify this. --Jim

The NCY ones are the best! They work for both AC AND DC i dont have any instock but i think enviromoto.com does. I just check enviromoto.com's website and they don't show any NCY DC CDI's that would work on a Kymco Super 8. I saw one for a Honda Ruckus but none for a Kymco....any other suggestions? --Jim

Hello All !,
I am looking to get a performace CDI for my 150cc Kymco Super 8. I has a DC Pulse rather than AC. I however can't find one anywhere except Scootertronics and I know that many of you know why that place isn't a good choice. I am therfore open to any sugestions as to where I can get this CDI.

Well...my latest batch of homebrew is fermenting like crazy. It should be ready in about 1 month. It is a dark coffee porter with a slight hint of chocolate. If my calculations are correct, it should be about 11% APV.

Hank,
I am glad to hear that your dog is doing well. I was worried for you.
I myself just recent got a dog. He is a Shi Tzu. His name is Casey and he is awesome!
