Yah it is supposed to stop it. The needle in the carb should stop it from over filling the carb but those will can can fail also. I would get one just to be on the safe side. They are cheap and the rubber inside them breaks up very easy.

If you are not mechanically inclined i would not mess with it. If you did not even know what the valves are i would not adjust them.

You broke off a bolt to the pair system. Not a huge problem but not something you should let go. Try to get the bolt out. And the hose from the valve cover is just a vent line. It just lets the cover vent. Neither one of these could be your problem. Are you 100% sure you have the valves adjusted right? I thought i did on my first try but i was way off. Might want to check them again, and make sure the scoot is completely cooled off before you adjust them.

Is that the only hose that does not go anywhere. If It is the only hose not going to anything then yes it is to open air. Thats what it looks like but i cant tell because i cant see the other hoses.

No. the intake manifold is after the carb. should be black and connects the carb to the motor.

Ive read a strap wrench works great to hold the variator so you can just loosen it with a socket and breaker bar. No chance of breaking any fins that way. They only cost like 15 bucks and it should work for the clutch too Never thought about that. an oil filter wrench would work good. Thanks for the tip. ive been using a screwdriver if i never had an impact.

And it looks pretty old, might be time for a replacement. They tend to fail. A replacement might save you some headaches down the road. I was just about to say the same thing. I would think by the looks of that, that the rubber inside is not in good shape.

You can use a big screwdriver and hold the variator in place as you try to beak it loose. Just be carefull you can damage the variator fans this way. Hope that helps. I have no audio on my computer so i cant help with the noise.
