 After messing with my carb I noticed this hose from the pair system....where the heck does it go? Or is it just open to the air? It seems to run normally with it not attached to anything on the end shown. |

It's hard to tell with how close in the picture is. Can you provide a wider shot and say what it is connected to?

Is that the only hose that does not go anywhere. If It is the only hose not going to anything then yes it is to open air. Thats what it looks like but i cant tell because i cant see the other hoses.

The lighting kinda sucks but it goes to the pair canister right above my exhaust, then from that canister to the pair.

If I remember correctly the loose end connects to the file tank vent.
You should the other connection leads to the vent on the valve cover, and the other connection should lead to the airbox.

Whats a file tank vent? I have another canister that is attached to the gas tank...

 Do you mean this other canister that vents from the gas tank? Theres nothing attached to the bottom right now, and the unconnected hose as shown reaches and fits perfectly over it |

Either way, that whole system needs to go in the trash.
The only thing the system is doing is pushing extremely dirty vapors back into the motor and clogging it for a hippy pipe dream.

Haha you're definitely right on that one...like my scooter pollutes sooo much compared to a car right. I've been so annoyed with all the CARB regulation junk, like the plug I had to drill out on my carb and the totally lean tuning it came with, and the mess of hoses now. Once I get a block off plate its all coming off.

Whats a file tank vent? I have another canister that is attached to the gas tank... I meant fuel tank vent. The fuel tank needs a vent or negative pressure will build up. |

The tank has its own canister that it vents through. Looks the same as the one that the unconnected hose comes from. I duno, this damn hose is confusing the out of me. Of course when they add all this emissions junk they neglected to make a diagram for it

Yes it goes to open air. Your fine. Just find a place to tie it to the frame and your good to go

Well as far as I can tell this is a pair system, not an egr so all it does is push fresh air into the exhaust valve to help burn the gasses. So it seems it would make sense for it to be open
