Just curious how you would rate yours and what kind of stopping power you get. I'd rate mine 5 outa 10 even after flushing the front. Back I still need to adj. For the front being disc I would expect better. Might just take them off and have a looksy later.

My rears are ok, but the front is touchy. Jamb on the front brake and the shock will bottom out. I have not locked them up, but I am pretty sure I could if I tried.
How old is the scooter? Hard braking with front and even rear brakes can glaze the surface of the rotor or drum and create poor braking. On cars they "turn" the rotors and drums every brake job. Not only does it "ture" the surfaces, but also brakes up the glazing of the surface from miles of braking.

Haven't had to real-world test the limits of my brakes. But in the MSF class I stopped way shorter than the given length in the straight-out "emergency" brake drill. He told me after that I'd come close to locking the front. That was on wet pavement too.
I have had some harder stops at intersections that went yellow right when I hit that "do I or don't I?" zone. Stopped me fine and straight.
So I'd say my brakes are pretty primo.

Took off the levers (clutch/brake) and realized how cheaply made they are. Seems they bind up a little, already have wear marks after less then 50miles. Lubed them up good and plenty with some white lithium grease. 100% better. *careful Kat...sometimes better to blow through than try and stop, specially if you aren't paying close attention to what is behind you.

Not sure what yours looks like. Should be able to push the lever forward to take tension off the nut and run the nut in a couple turns. You should easily notice if the cable twists with the nut or not.
*NOT the hand brake lever. I mean the lever connected to the brakes.
**EDIT..couldn't find a good video on here so found another. About the 3:15 mark you can see everything clearly and what to do.

My back drum is pretty weak, cant even make it skid, well at least it wont lock up lol. My front is decent. I can stop rly quickly though using both. I have no complaints. Even from top speed I can stop pretty darn quick

mftic, I'm in the habit of checking my mirrors for what's behind me before deciding to stop or run. I check even in my car. If there's someone behind me, and I know I'll be stopping hard, I run the yellow. I'd rather be stopped by a cop and explain I didn't want to get rear-ended, than risk getting rear-ended. I do tend to run more of those iffy-stops on my scoot than I would in my car, for the very reason you're talking about. Thanks for the advice --I appreciate any and all! >'Kat
