[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]There cases are ridiculously expensive. The only thing they have going is the easy to remove mount to take the trunk on and off. Otherwise the cases are just like the cheep ones on ebay, barely any good plastic in my opinion. Just way to much to pay for something that's not really innovative.
Is there anybody that makes anything really different? Maybe it's padded or has lights, or something really unique?

Get the universal one. It looks like a plastic piece of grate. It's really fantastic gives you holes and places to put straps and stuff. I don't have one but my neighbor does but he bought his in a local store. Look for universal scooter luggage. This is what you want, but not this brand, you can get this for $10, I tried googling "scooter trunk plate" The real question is does anyone know the BIGGEST trunk I can find? I'm talking big enough to safely fit my briefcase with 17" Laptop… I saw a double wide helmet case. What innovative things have people done for storage.

[replyingto=devo344a]devo344a[/replyingto]Do those performance CDIs make a noticeable difference? If I bought and installed it on my stock 150cc TaoTao what would I notice different? Looking for how it 'felt' different to you vs. what it's supposed to do.

Did you gain any weight since the last one you built? ;D
You have a lot of experience? What's the first performance thing I could add to my 150cc taotao scooter?

You dropped the tiny ring gasket out of the exhaust. Be careful not too tighten it too much

Being a novice what would be the real advantage to putting something like this on my 150cc taotao? It it more reliable or is there actually a difference I would feel? Now I can see a bbk in the future for my Znen. A Taida BBK for the GY6-B motors would be a nice surprise (there is another thread about performance for -B engines.)

Can we see pictures of your paint and the cup holder? I'd have taotao 150cc Powermax vip and I've wanted a cup holder for as long as I can remember

I had to ditch all my tools so I could fill the underseat area with boxes of condoms; for all the ladies I've been meeting now that my "car" is a scooter. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH just kidding ;p

Give me a picture and I'll work my magic. I don't really like changing scooter colors because all the gloss makes it hard to be realistic. I'm an engineer, and work in Photoshop too often I'm afraid… But it should be easy to give you an Idea. I tried to do it on my scooter but the glossy plastic reflections makes it hard to look realistic. Might be just as good to type "Raiders motocycle custom" into google and see what others have done for motorcycles.

Drop in LED bulb replacements work just fine. You don't need a special light housing. I think they idea of a special light housing makes sense with "maybe" the headlight if you want it to appear focused well. Either way it's probably better than what you head before. Just get brighter than what you think you will need for the turn signals. My friend did it to his motorcycle and they are much brighter than old bulb ones. I wish someone knew what the bulbs in the turn signal and headlights I need for 2012 Taotao 150cc PowerMax VIP, So I could just go on superbrightled and order them

I have 2012 Taotao 150cc VIP Powermax. (GY6)
When I purchased the scooter last month it had broken front right fork, and bolts that held the muffler bracket to the ears of engine frame and exhaust were missing. I had to drive on the broken fork for about 2 weeks. I also fixed the muffler bracket engine bolts, which instantly made my scooter feel as smooth as glass compared to the previous ride and now my mirrors don't vibrate off.
I'm not sure if the perfectionist in me is being overly picky but there is still a little vibration. It becomes noticeable if I were driving one handed, the handlebar vibrates, the vibration definitely feels like it's directly in front of the bike, and given the squeak near the front tire when I push the bike down the road…
The right handlebar (side that had bad fork) appears to be slightly lower than the other handlebar. Steering Stem didn't look bent when I changed the forks. The fork broke when the previous owner ran in to a 3" curb and fell off. Is it more likely that the rim is slightly bent? I'm in the middle of a move and don't have a lot of workspace, so I'd just buy new tires/rim probably.
I'd like to spend a little bit of money on my scooter on Friday. Should I buy new wheels and rims? My bike is 12". What if I wanted to upgrade the brake system?
What would you buy? Should I buy a new steering stem triple tree? New tires and rims? How can I upgrade the brakes? (Stock feels way to tiny) What can I buy to fix my squeaky brake in back? What makes my handlebars feel bent?
It's my primary vehicle, and I want to take care of her. Got $200 with her name on it.
Help me spend the money!

The old muffler had something like this underneath it. (not my photo) The new muffler doesn't have that little U welded underneath, do I need to make sure it has something welded underneath? It's very stable and not pulling on the exhaust studs or anything, but still I'm wondering what my options are for the back part of the exhaust. It has those two new bolts on top of the muffler that I've never seen for any scooter like mine.

The other thing I found on mind was the metal around the rear shocks. I twisted them a bit (i think it tightens them so do it evenly) and it made it quieter, have you tried touching those to see if something is banging around?

Does it stop when you put your foot on the muffler? Get a friend to help you? Often these cheep scooters have metal touching metal. What you can do is put some rubber spacers or washers from the muffler to that plate it connects to. It's probably just metal vibrating from the exhaust system on the plate. Does it sound like it's coming from inside. My bike is perfect, and it does this with my exhaust system which is brand spanking new and it did it with the last exhaust. Just because the metal at high RPM gets the tiny vibration in it. Often car exhaust on non-fuel injected vehicles are this way as well. I don't think it's something wrong but you need a friend to help you listen near exhaust system. I figured mine was a crappy silver plate and the cheep TINY screws that actually hold exhaust together, not the bolts holding it to bike on mine. Even tightening it didn't fix it so I left it alone.
