I've been wanting to do this for a long time too. I'm guessing you would need to buy a rectifier to convert from AC to DC voltage.
Do you know if I can just buy an upgraded 11 pole stator to replace the cheep ones in our taotao bikes?
I'm assuming from what I know of electronics we need better stator, rectifier, and better battery to be safe.

My scooter finally has 1,500 miles on it and it sometimes stalls occasionally if it's not warmed up and I come to a stop. I bought the feeler gauges yesterday. I've never done a valve adjustment. Is there a tutorial?
I will be taking it into a motorcycle shop to have my friend supervise, so is there anything special a motorcycle pro should know? (not me him)

Did you see they have the same scooter with vertical headlights as well. And they have it 150cc for $80 more!

e-ton is all over here in Indiana and everyone I talk to has one that is 6-7 years old. It makes me think they are very reliable.
You'll also see lots of TaoTao bikes here since Indianapolis is the distribution center.

Is there a correct way to measure my brake pads? Should I buy calipers?

Okay I'm ordering the triple tree. Is this also why it looks like the handlebar (on the side that had the bad fork) is slightly lower? Or are they not connected?

Can somebody point me to the correct replacement ignition lock kit that has trunk, glovebox and ignition for my 2012 Taotao 150cc Powermax VIP scooter?
I'm looking at one but I'm not sure which one is for TaoTao.

I previously had a bad fork I drove on for two weeks while waiting for the new part. Now that everything is fixed I notice when I press on my front breaks it sort of shimmies in the front. It's more noticeable when going faster. I notice when I push my scooter down the road, that every wheel revolution there is a single squeak.
Someone mention this could be a bent front break rotar. What size are the brake rotors on my 2012 TaoTao Powermax VIP 150cc? Also is is possible to upgrade to to something besides stock?
What one do you recommend for this bike? I've seen performance brake rotors, but they were overpriced and I couldn't figure out the right one for me.

Looks great! I love the choice of non-glossy paint. I've been wanting to see a bike with similar style as my 2012 taotao powermax vip so I would know what it would look like as a solid color. What other modifications are you planning to do? I'm thinking of fancy rims maybe… I was thinking of painting it white but now I'm thinking of going with a forest green, more earthy tones that you wouldn't normally see.

Vice grips worked for both of mine. Odds are the 6mm screw hole will be stripped shortly too. So do this next:
I'm going to have my own redrilled to 8mm from the 6mm they are. However this trick works UNBELIEVABLE well for over 380 miles. Go into a real hardware store like do-it-best with your 6mm stud. Find a course american screw that's about the same size as your 6mm. Screw it into the slot and it will be tighter than your old 6mm until you can buy a new head or professionally drill 8mm holes. DO NOT USE a ratchet to tighten. I used a regular screw with a screwdriver and hand tightened.

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]I know this doesn't make sense, but can you please tighten the spark plug cable. I know if the spark plug cable comes loose it shouldn't behave like your describing but this is exactly what happened to me, I totally freaked out because it kept happening until i tighter the spark plug cable which was coming loose on bumps.
