So, as some of you may know, I did a BBK for Metrodee, a member here on the forum. I also, installed the 16/50 gears from scrappy dog, and also a new clutch and carb along with the BBK. I didn't REV the out of the thing, but from what I see as of right now, it probably will top out at 50 MPH. Now, this is with I believe.... -Stock Clutch - 16/50 gears 3.125 Ratio -Stock Carb # Main -50mm BBK -Orange Coil (needs replacing) -"unlimited" CDI May have left some out up there. The last kit I did for someone did 62 GPS Verified out the box. And had less mods done to it.

I've done tons of mods tons of kits tried all the gears etc etc, never reached 60 gps was my goal, ive done 52mm kits airsal kits, big valve heads you name it i don't think a 50cc 4 stroke is capable of 60 gps regardless of the mods on flat ground.

I have a 150cc on the way and gonna mod it too, will be happy if i can get 60 gps out of it, it will probably do around 65 gps after the mods which is my goal.

Still gotta upjet (to a #92), swap out the airbox for my UNI filter, get the Big Valve Head put on (when it's replaced), put my 2K springs in (maybe), and replace the exhaust. I was wondering if putting on an "orange" CDI box would help (I have one on hand), but not so sure if I need to use it, as the current CDI already seems nicely broke in.
I don't expect much better until all mods are complete, but it'll definitely be better than almost getting sideswiped by cars while it's wailing at 35MPH!

Did you gain any weight since the last one you built? ;D
You have a lot of experience? What's the first performance thing I could add to my 150cc taotao scooter?

[replyingto=devo344a]devo344a[/replyingto]Do those performance CDIs make a noticeable difference? If I bought and installed it on my stock 150cc TaoTao what would I notice different? Looking for how it 'felt' different to you vs. what it's supposed to do.

the cdi performance gain is minimal, biggest gains from the right weight sliders or big bore kits

If I was to do it over again as far as the first mods I did on mine, I would say all the stuff in the CVT, Variator, weights, belt, Torque spring, etc. If you can afford it, just get the NCY CVT kit, that's what I did, and it comes with everything.

You can save you money and go with the Hoca kit from Parts for Scooters. My Lance Vintage 150 with the orange dc cdi, Hoka variator and drive face on a bike that was otherwise stock would give me 65 mph on flat round by gps reading.
