I just reviewed my maintenance logs from when I had my 2007 Lance/Znen Vintage 150 and memory plays tricks on you. Maybe it just felt like 8,000 to 10,000 miles however the bike only had 6746.8 miles on it when I traded it in on my current bike. I purchased it used for $400 when it had 3,744 miles on it so I only put 3,002.8 miles on it by the time I traded it in after running it from September 15, 2010 to April 18, 2011.
Even though the original owner did the 500 mile oil changes and ran it in the city to commute to the local college campus (he had a small Ninja for out of town use) and I ran it mostly below 50 mph at 2/3 to 3/4 throttle it took 2 heads, 1 muffler 2 belts, 1 clutch, 1 variator, 1 gear box rebuild, 1 cdi, 1 coil, 1 ignition pickup, 1 starter, 1 fender (fell apart), 4 headlamp bulbs, 6 valve adjustments and 7 oil/gearlube changes along with numerous repairs to the frame to keep the bodywork attached and a few cases of oil to keep it topped off in order to run it the 3,002.8 miles over the 7 months I used it to commute to work.
My current 250cc scooter has 22,000 trouble free miles on it now having been ridden daily regardless of the weather, has only required the standard maintenace by the book and is coming up on its 4th regularly scheduled oil/filter/gearlube change. It is all original except for belt, rollers and tires and is comming up on its second belt, roller and tire change along with the 25,000 mile valve adjustment check (second scheduled check). About 1/4 of its use has been on the Interstate running at the same speeds as the other traffic which most times is a tad over 80 mph per gps. I replace the low beam headlamp bulb every 1.5 years. Sorry not Chinese but a $2,999 2009 Aprilia 250 with EFI.
Those 2007/2008 and possibly 2009 Znens were a horror to deal with no matter how well they were maintaned so be wary if you find a bargain on a low mileage used one. The newer ones seem to be getting quite a bit better over the past 2 or 3 years but those built before that can be quite a challange.
Good to see things have improved so much since then.

9,900 miles on only preventive maintenance. The repairs I've done was my own mistakes!

I'm @ around 19,000. Just changed the variator and rollers > Koso < to quiet down all that da** rattling. haha Put a Gates belt on it as well. I have been riding on some kinda knock-off Kelvar (no sh**; that's what it says on the belt) for about 3,000 and it has started unraveling. Get all of my tech tips 'round here and hands on. Just changing parts as needed. Grateful to all. Ridin' out

Well Fawkes has a total 7403.6 miles, 4500 miles, on the first engine, 2000 as a stroker, and almost 1000 on the new engine. So far the new engine seems solid, no issues, starts and runs perfactly.. but this one is a long case, upgraded to an 83cc.. Time will tell..

Almost 10K on a 2005 150 factory crank, shorty air filter , stainless steel valves , #118 re-jet , Gates "racing" belt , with a nice quiet factory cool exhaust plugging it back. Runs 55 mph rain or shine everyday with ease....just can't keep the crank seals from leaking long . Top off the crank case every morning with oil and go. I did put up with alot of fried pick-up coils (...trailer recoverys) till I learned to cool these things down internally by re-jetting. Don't let'm get exhaust leaks for long , it eats the factory valves down quick .....run like a fire cracker doing it too. You end up with a weak kick starter telling you cylinder compression is low and rebuild is soon needed. Stainless steel valves last much longer , but they burn out just as well with un-maintained exhaust leaks.

Looks like it's time for a new engine. Lot's of rattlin' goin's on. Anyone know a decent place to purchase a 1P39QMB shortcase; preferably with just piston-rod attached (no other top-end)? I know it has to happen sooner than later.... Thanks

That's where I got mine from also , it came witha bando belt , a keihn carb and the variator that it came with is lighter then my Koso . Not that that really matters you have to compensate with heavier weights with a lighter variator . I paid between 300 and 350 not really sure exactly.

I live about 250 plus miles east of Harrisburg , not sure when I'll be going , with me and the wife " well gf of 11 yrs " working and I've been havin a few issues with my cvt that I'm working out , I think I have it fixed now but I guess I'll find out . I've also been riding as much as possible . I've been blowin out v- sliders and I think it was due to the 2000 rpm springs mixed with the 2000 main spring , I'm thinking the 2000 rpm springs and main springs are mainly for racing so I dropped the 2000 rpm springs back to 1500 rpm springs . I also ruined 2 Koso variators when I broke the v- slides . I'm running a stock variator with the ncy drive face right now until I order a new 115mm variator . I wanna make sure the problem is taken care of before I order a new one .

I ride about 4x per week short errands and a joy ride or two. 2012 Tao Tao CY-50a. 4103km = 2549 miles so far. Talk about a tale of two scooters; I have the same year/model as you, and have 8,700km ~5.4k miles on mine! Got it July 4th, 2012. Have put a buttload of parts in to try to make it a quality ride. It sort of is now. I almost trust it.

Thats how I am with mine,,put all kinds of upgrades into it and sort of trust it,,I still find myself gritting my teeth every now and then,,guess the old china girl needs to prove herself to me a little more before I trust her...LOL.Im not to worried about a coil pack,CDI,belt,or something minor failing.Just want to avoid the big loud clanking noises after the cloud of smoke and oil running on the ground..lol Only problem I have had so far is my fuel tank sending unit went out,,or maybe its the gauge,,not sure,,but after looking at it Im not really ready to take it apart yet.Maybe next Winter..

Personally, mine has been dependable since I first got it. I am very happy with it. I trust MINE. Other the very minor changes listed in my sig, all stock with only 1 problem. My ignition switch broke, I replaced it.
