I have had 3 Taotao cy-50a scooters and I have been quite happy with them. Very few problems with any of them.

I am looking for a new carburetor that has the a/f mixture screw. I have checked out Scrappy dog and a few other places. Just wanted a few more options. I have a stock Taotao cy-50a w/6gm weights.

Inside the clutch assembly, where the 3 springs are located?

I finally got to ride my scooter on a normal run last evening, nice difference. Stock clutchsprings..whatever came in it with the new variator w/6gm weights. Better take off, no decrease in top speed, and on inclines little to no speed loss and on a few inclines.. Speed gains. I'm going to keep it like this for a while. Thanks for all the input.

I have already changed the variator and have 6gm weights in. I saw an immediate take off increase and no real top speed decrease so far. Gonna give it a little ride time and see how it goes.

I checked it out and the kit came with "1000" rpm springs. Blue ones.

So in my best interest... Put the blue "1500" springs in and go from there.

I was just wondering if it was worth taking my clutch apart to swap the springs? I have watched the how to videos. Just wanted to save myself some "unnecessary" work.

I just got a DLH gy650 variator kit. My question is the clutch springs are the blue ones "1500" rpm I think. Do I really need to change my stock ones? I have a stock 2015 Taotao cy-50a. Any thoughts on what the stock springs are?

Yeah, I pulled it out...hit it with a BDH#1, and re-installed. Didnt work. Seems to be the upper wire conections at the top of the unit.

I took it down to where I could get to what I needed. I started by wiggling the top portion of wires on the fuel sensor and they jumped into position, and then not. Did this a few times and I believe my problem is at the top of the unit where they attach to the unit. I'm full and it reads full. I reattached the seat unit so the wires were in "position" and there was fuel reading. Guess I need to ride a bit to see if things change. Sound about right??
