Oh heck then, my 1975 Norton 850 Commando might have been a bad product. The Norton requires as much service as my China Scoot, but it is much more expensive. The Norton was leaking oil on the show room floor when I bought it in 1975. That was expected of a Norton in 1975. You bought a Norton for handling and power in those days. We didn't care if we needed kitty litter in a box under the bike. That was then.
I would not put up with a China Scoot leaking on my garage floor..... I think I expect a lot more from motor sports products now days, including China Scoots.

Just got my hands on a 50cc scoot that I'm planning to frankenscoot out and first order of business is a 60cc piston/cylinder since the stock set has 18000km on it and is just baaaaarely able to keep itself running at idle for what I assume is lack of compression. Previous owner slapped a new carb, belt, rear tire, and oil in it not long before deciding it was beyond his skill and let me get it for $80 with the title. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work and the BBK came in JUST before I left the house.

1,595 miles on my factory 63ccVIP so far. I just use the proper maintenance on it. I have used the same brand of oil in it since it was new, gas also.

I have a little over 12K on my shanghai listed below . I usually put 4k a summer on the scoot , well actually last yr I put about 6k on it and 3k the previous 2 yrs. i had a little extra cash Latin around about 3 yrs ago and bought a new engine to start to modify. I bought the scoot used and didn't want to put money into an engine in which I didn't know for sure if it was taken care of.

I got a whole 450 miles in 2 years on my TaoTao 50. One end of town to the other is a whopping 4.5 miles. If I want to go somewhere, I certainly don't take the scoot since they can't be used on the highways here. Limited to secondary roads only.

116 km. so that is 72 miles. I have a taotao atm150. I'm assuming the reading on the odometer is in km. Am I correct? I have had mine on the road for less than a week .

Turned 8000 miles this morning on the way to work. Bought it at 1/10 mile. This is my daily driver and it runs better now then when it was new. Changed Variators a few times. (Had a bad clutch that tore up 2 of the variators). Use full synthetic mobile 1 oil. only run 91 octane 76 brand gasoline. average 75MPG and can roll up to 55+ on flat ground. (gps verified) I rarely ride WOT, and average about 30mph with all the stop signs. My daily commute is 13 miles each way

2600 KM or around 1650 miles. Used to run it WOT most of the time, but that seems to make the valves go out of adjustment too quickly. So I refrain from that now.
I have the exact same bike, ATM EVO 150. Did not have the issues you have, the weeks on mine are NICE and have only spotted one thing that was put together in a shoddy way. One of the clips that hold the fuel lines was actually caught in some other assembly. No biggie, just loosen that up first and then take the fuel line clip off.
I take that back, The stator came loose inside the housing stranding me on the side of the road, but that was after 2300 KM or doing a lot of WOT. I won't be doing much WOT riding anymore. If you start hearing a lot of vibration on the side of your scoot from the side of the stator. Don't wait for it to fail, go ahead and take it apart and tighten things up. DOH! Wish I had done that.
LOL
