I want to get the most torque that I can, Top speed is not an issue. I have a 150 gy6 with a 60 mm big bore kit, I was thinking of using a 2000 main spring and 1500rpm clutch springs. The lowest gear set I could find is a 13/43. I think stock is 13/40 so that isnt that big of a difference. Right now I have a ncy variator with 11 gram rollers. I ordered 12 gram sliders can I still use that variator? and should I look for a smaller diameter variator? What else can I do and what do?

I installed the chrome air scoop , and changed my 42 pilot jet to a 45. it seems to like the change, I am at the middle clip on the needle and 600 feet above sea level. I am waiting for some parts to come in the mail for some cvt changes and I am thinking about painting the luggage rack on the back black. I am thinking this winter I will paint the whole thing black and have a friend of mine air brush some realistic looking flames on it.

I wonder how long a motor will last without the two small piston rings that go directly above and below the oil wavy oil ring? It looks like im about to find out because i forgot to install mine lol. I have no desire to tear it apart again right away so Hopefully it will finish out the season. Maybey I will go even bigger on the next big bore kit? The scooter is running great and Im very happywith the added torque. The only problem is I want more torque. I ordered some 12 gram sliders and I have a set of 13/43 gears to install also.

the operation seems to be a success. I have the engine kit installed and the scooter is up and running. Running pretty strong I might add. I have a gravel parking lot behind my shop and the scooter would break the rear tire loose but not it really does a lot more and inside my garage i would have to apply the front brake to get the rear tire to spin but not now. just apply a hand full of throttle. I drove it home about 2.5 miles and it ran great. I put rather large jets in the carb and it did not backfire at all. i used a 42 pilot jet and a 125 main jet. I am about three turns out on my air fuel mixture screw. I still have the stock gears in it but I am getting ready to install a set of 13/43 for more torque. I think I am also going to rum a 2000 main spring and a 1500 clutch spring when I get the chance to swap it out. I have not done a top speed run on it yet because it isn't even broken in yet and also because I just drive it to my work and back mostly so I don't ever really top it out much that is why I am going for maximum torque. But with just the engine kit i can definitely tell a difference from 0-40 mph.

thanks geh3333. Right now I am running a 1500 main spring and stock cluch springs. I tried other clutch springs but the stock ones were smoothest and I liked them the best. After the motor I am going to start playing with the gears. the ones I ordered are 13/43 they are the lowest ones I could find. I have no clue what is stock. I will find out soon. I bought a press at harbor freight so I can change them any time I want. By the way geh3333 I read that post about your little girl. I didnt respond because I didnt know what to say. It is so sad! No child should have to go through that. She is a beautiful little girl. Good luck with everything!!!!!!

I chose the A11 cam because I am also going to install lower gears for better acceleration and will be running the scooter in the upper rpm range often .

here is the piston , It only took about 45 minuted to pull the motor the first time. I was suprised at how easy it was. and here is the rebuild kit I am installing now.

It has been a while since my last post and not a lot has changed on the scooter that I can really think of. I put some new shocks on it but they were a little long and very stiff. So they came off and I put the original ones back on. I have been having a hard time getting the carb adjusted . I cant seem to get it to completely quit backfiring during deceleration. When I ride around with my daughter at a reg pace then it never does it but when I ride alone and I am full throttle often it seems to do it quite a bit. They scooter has been great so far . I have done quite a few mods to it and ride the crap out of it and it seems to hold up just fine. Now with all that being said i can say that I damaged the motor but It is due to all my mods and the way I drive not the dependability of the scooter. ( it actually still runs great.) A month or so ago I got rid of all the extra vacuum lines and canisters. I had a filter on the end of my valve cover breather and never had any trace of oil coming from it. Anyway there are these cheap $40 nitrous kits on ebay with the co2 looking cartridges that supposedly have nitrous in them. I ordered it . I knew it was dumb, It sat for a few weeks and i finally put it on. I took it down the block. used it on short bursts like the instructions said. I went one bock turned around and came back to the shop and took it off. It was laim to say the least. I drove it home about two miles and i had oil all over my floor board . It was coming from the valve cover breather but still ran fine. I rigged up a catch can but I had too much oil in the can the last week or two. So I knew something was wrong. (still ran fine though.) basicly little to no power loss. I bought a big bore kit from ebay and I am in the process of installing it now. I will post some pics of the rebuild and the damage. I had a broken piston. I am not saying the fake nitrous caused it but the problem started immediately after i used it.

This seems to be the lowest gear set I could find for more torque. Is there a lower gear set out there? Should I start a new thread? I am sorry if I am in the wrong spot.
