Here is a pic of my two toys together. On this picture you can see the carbon fiber vinyl I put on the headlights to cover some scratches that the scooter got during shipping. I think the original headlights are a little large and this gives it more of a "street bike" look. If anyone is interested in the golf cart it is a 1999 ezgo. Lifted 6 inches, 15 inch car wheels , stereo system with amp and subwoofer under the seat. All the drive system has been upgraded to 48 volts and it does about 30 mph. ( if it were legal in my area I probably wouldn't even own the scooter.)

No I did not notice a seat of the pants difference with the cdi. ( just my opinion) .I did notice the lighter rollers though . Today I am going to install the 2000 rpm clutch springs and torque spring. And the filter has a 15 degree neck on it and it came from ebay for like 20 dollars.

Hey Kenny the original rollers are 14 grams. I made quite a few changes to my scooter today. For one i got rid of all the unessassary vacuum lines. Then I took the airbox off and put on the new uni filter. I cut off about 5 inches of the original airbox snorkel to get the uni filter past the cross bar. Plus I think it looks good being visible from the side of the bike. I rode the scooter without re jetting after the air filter change and the scooter seems to be running just fine. not a single backfire or anything. Im sure I will need to re jet the carb after I install the exhaust pipe. It seemed to run a little better but nothing to major. Then I pulled the clutch cover and put on the kevlar belt , ncy variator , and ten gram rollers. I pulled the clutch off but my adjustable wrench was just barely too small for the large nut. The scooter now seemed to pick up speed better , I have not checked the top speed yet. when i get the chance i and going to Install new clutch spring to 2000 rpm springs (all 4, 3 small springs and 1 large spring) if any one has any suggestions I'd like to hear it.

I post pics using photobucket. 1. take pic 2. upload it to photobucket 3. copy the direct link address 4. go to forum 5. above is a small picture of a picture ( click on that) 6. then paste the link in the box. 7. make sure there is only one http\\ on the link. a p&p pipe is just an exhaust pipe on ebay and yes i will be replacing the variater also . I was told the sliders are better but Ive already ordered the variator and rollers. The ncy cdi box is just a brand name of the cdi. My next move is just waiting on all my parts to come in and get to work. If you want to read about another bike like ours kenny then do a search for "jerseyboy" he also has a bike like ours with lots of good info on here. And as far as the pouch on the rear goes I've had that a few years now . I didn't like it on my dirt bike but it is great for the scooter. I got it from ebay and it is made by Suzuki. I can easily unbuckle it and throw it under the seat if i want to. I like it ten times more that the big ugly trunk that rattled a lot.

I will be taking mine apart this week kenny and I will let you know what the rollers weigh. Also I got some of my parts in but still waiting on some. Im gonna start with ten gram rollers and 2000 rpm clutch springs. I got a foam uni filter with a 15 degree neck on it . Hopefully it wil help with the cross bar situation. I dont think I am going to use the stock airbox at all. Re jet the carb , P & P pipe, ncy cdi module, I will also be removing all unnecassary vacuum lines . I got rid of the rear trunk and replaced it with a bag from suzuki. I like it a lokt better than the trunk.

Thanks scuttadawg , Can you tell me what you recommend to get started with on the clutch springs? What is stock? I will be running lighter weights for better acceleration so I was thinking 1 or 1.5 k springs.

116 km. so that is 72 miles. I have a taotao atm150. I'm assuming the reading on the odometer is in km. Am I correct? I have had mine on the road for less than a week .

I know the trunk is laim but it is very useful, and even though the scooter is an MAGNET I didn't buy it to look cool so for now the trunk stays on.

I ordered my taotao from dallas power sports awesome atv . I couldn't ask for a better place to purchase the scooter from. They had it in stock and i received it in about 5 days from the time i ordered it. It came with no trunk, I emailed them and they sent one out right away. Also my paper work for the plates and title came right away also. A++++ for them in my book! I received my scooter assembled it, changed the oil (amsoil 10w 40 motorcycle oil, because i had some in the garage), fuel filter, and diff oil(lucas synthetic i think),and spark plug (reg ngk) before i fired it up. it started up right away and idled great. I let it warm idle for about ten minutes and shut down to cool off about 3 times over the next couple days. Then i took it on a few short rides and changed the oil at about 20 km. There was some specs of metal in the oil which is to be expected during break in. I replaced all the vacuum and fuel lines ( except the rubber hose going into the rear gear clutch area) . Then replaced oil again at 60 km (15w40 royal purple). I am now at 107 km and so far so good. The scooter keeps up with traffic well and does everything it is expected to do. Today I put in the iridium plug from nkg . I didnt notice any seat of the pants difference. I did fill up the tank to the top once and it stalled out due to the air inlet into the tank was blocked by fuel. I siphoned out some fuel and it runs great again. Bad tank design I guess but i just wont fill it to the top and problem solved. I have ordered some upgrades and I am waiting on those to arrive. NCY cdi box NCY 10 gram rollers NCY variater NCY stainless header bolts and gasket Gates kevlar belt and Uni foam air filter I dont know if i want to remove the air box or not. It sounds like that cross bar will get in the way if i use just a uni filter on the carb. The 10 gram rollers may be too light but i had to start somewhere. I want better acceleration so I started with that. I also plan to order soon a p &p pipe and carb jets. By the way this is my first scooter and scooter build. I have had four wheelers, dirt bikes and crotch rockets in the past but this is my first scooter. Most of my input so far has come from jerseyboy on this site. ( thankyou jerseyboy by the way for all the informative posts.) I would rather not have the air box on the scooter because it seems like it will be a pain to remove a bunch of times for when i jet and rejet the carb trying to get it right. I dont plan on riding in the rain so im not concerned about the airbox for that reason. Also if i remember right jerseyboy did not like the sound without the airbox so maybe i will just drill holes in the lid and keep the air box. Any input would be apreciated. Well that is all for now . I will post a pic soon just in case anyone is interested. I plan to continue this as the build continues hoping it may help someone in the future. The same way jerseyboys posts helped me.
