You should just go down to the dollar store and get a wire brush or music store and by a $1 steel B string,,thats how I clean all my carb ports here,,and I work on small engines all the time,,one guitar string will clean thousands of carbs.
Its always a good idea to have a few extra pilot and main jets also if you are going to get into this hobby.
If you want a string just PM me your address and I will send you a piece.I know you said you tried something already,,but a string and carb cleaner will clean out a pilot jet like no tomorrow.

Jerseyboy, WOW! A much more modern kart than in my day, but that same wild performance! From the sound, I'm not sure if that kart in the video is a 2-stroke or a high-revving 4-stroke. Whatever it is, it MOVES! Great post! Leo in Texas Its a 4 stroke inline 4 cylinder Suzuki GSXR 1000 motor...crotch rocket motor...if you listen close you can hear him shift twice,,he was in 3rd gear for the finish line,,these motors have 6 gears imagine that...lmbo!!

They should have inner metal sleeve with rubber bushing then metal outer sleeve like both of those do,,no you don't want any lateral play in them,,I would replace them with OEM bushings. Must be those rough roads down there that tore them up so soon huh? Damn potholes!! Good roads are not something we are known for down here, I guess vibration made the bushing fail, I've had several issues because of vibration (loose pipe, loose airbox, loose vacuum pump, and the list goes on), I'm seriously considering getting an offroad bike, but I have some stuff to deal with before I can afford the new bike; so for now I'm stuck with the scoot Yeah,,these scooters are not really made to take that kind of beating day in and day out....I always try to run the smoother roads and swerve all over the place avoiding bumps and holes...lol..there is nothing worse than hearing the motor SLAM in its mounts from a hole or bump. The bushings are a little soft IMO.

Hope to see you back in the saddle again but if not I truly understand.

Balancing is not really needed on these small wheels,,but if you want to its easy enough,,I would only do it if you feel a pulsation.
I told you guys how hard it was getting a new rubber over the wheel...lol
I have a heat gun and will use lots of soap and make sure I eat my Wheaties before attempting it. Ive done car tires by hand easier...lol
I have a set of those rim protectors,,they are a great investment and yes,,the rope on them is for tying the prybar into its clinched position,,works great! That guy made it look easy though...

I use a G or B steel guitar string,,you can even use a piece off a wire brush,,just be careful it doesn't break off inside the port. Sometimes just compressed air and cleaner will do it.

Out in the country its usually a flock of Turkey Buzzards around the next blind corner that get you. Once around Midnight I did sense a dark silent creature running alongside the bike and that was the one the really scared me. Think Florida Panther in the hill country chasing you after Midnight on a moonless fall night coming out of the pitch darkness. Glad I was on the Aprilia 250 and not the Lance with the flaky ignition pickup and vacuum pump that would run dry at higher levels of throttle. Hahahaha,,thats funny,,hammer down!!!!

Hmmmm,,when it loses power back off the throttle a we bit and see if the power comes back on...if it does that means its not getting enough fuel there in the top,,could be carb related,,if it still bogs then it could be too much fuel.
Alot of times the fuel will foam up in the bowl on these if the float level is not just right causing issues with fuel air mix.
Could even be an ignition problem...does it pull hard uphill under load? If so,,the ignition should be fine....

exactly what i have and will show tonight it's absolutely zero affect. i understand what is thought and for good reason because it LOOKS like it does something, but in the end it simply does nothing. the cam is fully able to spin quite freely in both directions and there is no linkage the affects the rocker arms either. i need to get a couple zip ties to keep it in place for a vid, as holding it by hand and rotating is a pain. Any update on the video to demostrate that the cam stopper has no effect on valve lash retention when the engine is rotated counter-clockwise? I'm still curious to learn if it is fact or myth. The stopper on my stock cam had zero to do with valve retention or the valves at all,,it was a separate mechanism on its own that acts like a fishing reel,,it will only spin in one direction,,when spun backwards the square notch falls into the square slot and jams up the cam,,not such a great idea IMO,,my new A10 cam has no cam stopper...now an ACR will have an effect on the exhaust valve,,it will hold it open a crack to release compression until the motor fires,,but we dont have an ACR on our motors. The stopper only works after a full rotation depending on where the notch is when the motor goes backwards...I would remove it all together,,worthless piece of engineering...first of all I would love to see my motor run backwards..lol.

Ok,,thats cool hello neighbor!!! Im in Phillipsburg NJ,,very possible that you have water in the fuel causing this too..was the scooter ever sitting outside in the weather?
Take the fuel line off the input nipple of the carb and put it in a coffee can,,then crank over the motor and see if you get a good fuel flow there..your petcock/fuel pump or something from the tank to carb could be the issue.
Its too darn cold out here to be riding anyway,,but it would be nice to be ready...lol
Take care NJ!!

These motors are pretty noisy even when set to .003 thats where I did mine this time,,i set them to .004 last time and went 2400km...the exhaust valve was at .003 and intake was still the same. I did .003 this time cause I have a better quality Taiwan head,,we shall see....
Time to clean out the carb, ports and jets for the low power issue....you may have a clogged main jet or port..at least thats where i would start,,it could be a hundred other things...lol
Here is what my valves sound like at .004 before i changed them,,pretty loud if you ask me...guess Im used to hearing it with all the covers and plastics on...lol

Sorry I missed this thread Geh!! I will pray for quick recovery and healing of your dear Dad,,in the Name above ALL names Jesus!!!!
I hope he feels better soon,, I had really bad problems with my stomach/guts back in Sept,,I started taking lots of fermented foods like home made saerkraut, kombutcha, milk kefir all packed with probiotics for your gut health and healing, you can make them yourself cheap and easy!!,,changed up my diet a bit and now i feel like a million bucks,,when your dad gets home maybe tell him about this stuff,,it healed me right up,,i wasn't as bad as your dad but pretty bad...Ive seen people with colon cancer reverse it with the stuff I mentioned,,also been doing raw beet root juice with carrots, celery and apples,,very powerful tonic!!
I give thanks to God for giving us everything we need to stay healthy...
God Bless you guys through this storm,,I hope for peace and blessings for you as well....

I started out at 7 yrs old on a rupp pull start mini bike,,it had a 3.5 hp and the chain would fall off every 1/2 mile,,I still had a blast on that thing...if I was a little wiser then I would have figured out why the chain kept falling off,,I believe it was an alignment issue cause it was tight as all get up.
