Hi Millsc, Just out of curiosity, what is the PSI? I find that on the ones that I did, Including the airsal, That if I do not touch the throttle when starting, it does fine. The second I twist it just a little, It strains. I guess from letting more air in.I had 230PSI on that hoca, and it would'nt run smooth. Let us know your solution

That is ingeneous! and a professional job too I do'nt know why everyone is so gung-ho about doing away with stock airboxes. They are engineered to work with these engines, and they not only remove particulate matter from the intake air,And keep it fairly dry, but they are also designed for "sound" they are tuned to keep noise down.If set up or modified properly, they can give you all the benefits of any Free flow filter without any of the problems inherent with them.Great job You should patent and market it

It absolutely does affecct A/F ratio, and in a bad way!If more air is getting in than there should be,(and not only from the carb being loose, but improperly connected or leaking vacuum lines or airbox connection),It leans out the mixture thereby burning way hotter in the chamber, and risking damage to the top end.

Millsc just was discussing that with alleyoop.(look for the thread). Apparently it does. The timing is retarded for start &idle, and it advances at higher rpm. I'll look 4 the thread ;D

I have the same variator with 5 gram sliders in it and it performs fantastic. Plenty of pull and good top end can maintain 45+ on flat ground without WOT.I do however have other mods.(read signature)

I havent heard of issues with the ones in the plastic cases, but There seems to be an issue with the ones in the aluminum extrusions (looks like a big heatsink). There are blue ones and gold ones.I have both, and no issues. ;D

I don't know exactly how you would accurately position the fitting on the pump outlet. as it looks in the pic.Another idea would be to use a seperate oil pump for circulation to the cooler Also, the casting looks to be BEFFIER in the area of the fittings. You could probably make your own system, but It may not be as good as the "made for the purpose one.Or maybe it would...You never know till you try

I had a header pipe that looked the exact same way. It is very easily remedied. Get yourself a burnsomatic (or similar propane or Mapp gas) torch.or a plumber's sweat tank. Heat the flange red hot, and straighten it out. A couple of blows with a hammer, a pair of vise-grips to bend or a heavy steel plate to bang against should do it. Allow to air cool. Mine came out arrow straight And most important----No leaks

Thanks for theresponse,I ruined the first BBK piston by running too lean. I think I'm gonna upjet a little,If nothing else, it will at least give me some more adjustment range on the A/F mix screw,as it is now just about all the way out
