Does the advance/retard cdi help the gy6 50 scoots start with high compression the same way it helps the bigger 150s ??

Millsc just was discussing that with alleyoop.(look for the thread). Apparently it does.The timing is retarded for start &idle, and it advances at higher rpm. I'll look 4 the thread ;D

f4 it like night and day , look at the detail in your postings . I can see you will make good use of this cdi . Its 8 degrees retard at startup and idle , then jumps to about 30 degrees at about 3000 rpm .

well think outside the box for a moment , I know you will understand . As a young child I tuned up the car with my dad 318 . When it came to setting the timing (points were set to spec champion plugs gapped ) we set for easy cranking and slight ping on heavy acceleration and smooth cold start up.
ok lets apply this to the little engine this cdi acts like the later 80's vac advance ignition or the GM with the weights as it winds out it advances . I seeing the same type results .
