Has anyone ever rode to Sturgis South Dakota to see all the motorcycles and enjoy the shows? My wife wants to ride up there and do that. South Dakota is about 2 States away from us. My wife has a Rebel 250 and I own a Bali 250. I think they would handle the trip. Mine would need new tires, clutch and belt, roller weights. Mine has close to 7000 miles on it.

Ya, Quincy has my middle child there. He is a prison guard for the State of Missouri. We decided it would make the couple angry. I rode my 250cc scooter up to Quincy last Sunday. 130 miles. Wife rode her Honda Rebel too. We will move there, next week. I also been practicing cupping the front brake, so think I can pass the riders test. A rider can ride between 14 and 20 mph on the test course. It is not to difficult to pass. Since riding to IL, my wife enjoyed the trip a lot. Now wants to ride to Sturgis in South Dakota, next year.

My Dad lives in Warsaw MO on Lake Truman. He is sort of upset, that we are moving to Quincy IL. He wants us to move into the cabin we purchased from him. He is 71 years old and not getting younger. I think moving down to the lake is a better idea. It might upset the couple we went into halves on the cabin, but it is not like a permanent home for us. Only a place to get back on our feet and than move out. We could work on it too. So I am thinking of moving into it. What are your thoughts? Attachments:

Well, finally able to cup both brakes and apply both brakes at the same time. Feeling pretty good about myself now and a motorcycle riders test.. I only have to ride between 12 to 20 mph on the test course. That is a plus for me. Attachments:

We all are cool, to an extent. Fonzie never hit no body but had people fear him. I think back to my school days, never fought anyone but hung around a tough crowd so no one messed with me. Fonzie had a black book with stars by girls names-that seemed cool, but I never needed a black book to recall girls I dated or liked. Fonzie rode a motorcycle but I ride a scooter. It sure is a lot more dangerous riding a Chinese scooter than a bike like Fonzies. His hair was cool- duck tail style. But it was a TV show in the 70's that was about the 1950's. Ron Howard was suppose to be the star but the Fonze took over as the star. Fonzie was suppose to be in one or two episodes, but was a instant hit with the younger generation. But we are all like Fonzie to an extent. Attachments:

Yes, Seafoam is what I use too. I add a little Seafoam to every other tank of gas.

$20 is a deposit.. They have 3 different courses. The one I am taking is a Basic motorcycle course- 20 hrs long.. It is held Fri, Sat, and Sun.. This course is basically free to IL students that wish to obtain a motorcycle license. They have motorcycles that the class uses, but since I wish to use my own 250cc scooter- they will accommodate me due to handicapped. I still need to provide full coverage insurance and make sure scooter is in good condition. I noticed the other day, one headlight bulb is out- $6 cost, and need two new tires. So will not be riding much due to that. A 4 year class M license will cost me $10..

I will go through the motorcycle course on my scooter. Talked to a guy that gives the course in Illinois. It cost $20 and there is a course given in Quincy, where I am moving too. I will have to pass the class M written test so I can ride to classes with a licensed rider. Show proof of full coverage insurance. If fail the course for any reason, well I can still take the riding test by Illinois.. I can practice the test at the site, over the weekends until ready too. Attachments:

Yes, moving to Illinois might seem terrible for a disabled rider, because of the permit rules. In MO I can ride all over the State on a permit- just no passengers and ride in daylight hours. In IL I can only ride in daylight hours and no passengers, but also need to be riding with a licensed rider age 21 with a year under his belt. What the ..... Don't even know anyone from IL that would ride with a Chinese 250cc scooter rider..lol.. But I noticed they give accommodations to disabled riders.. I don't know what the accommodations are, so I wrote a email to the University of Illinois, explaining my condition and asked what they could do for me to accommodate me. Told them I suffered a severe stroke at age 16, in 1981. In 1993 bought my first 49cc scooter and in 2008 bought my first 250cc scooter. That I have been riding mostly highways and have 6800 miles on it today. Told him been riding for about 20 years and never had an accident. Don't actually feel comfortable on someone elses motorcycle and prefer riding my own 250cc scooter. That my right hand sometime can grab the front brake and sometimes not( if cold out hand tends to close up some and if try opening and closing repetitively well can't). Mostly use the rear brake and sometimes the front. But adjust speed to not be to close to the driver in front of me, keep a even pace so cars don't gain on me too. Wear protective gear.. Use mirrors a lot.. But hopefully I hear back on how they can accommodate me. Attachments:

Taiwan Chinese scooter is about right.. Half made by China and half built by Tiawan. But what still get me the most- is the Chinese motorcycle name- Yamasaki.. Taken from Yamaha and Kawasaki. The funniest thing I had ever read.

If you don't have many tools, well you probably don't own a air compressor.. Impact wrenches can either hook up to an air compressor or be totally electric. The cheapest electric impact wrench was around $38 and air impact wrench was $20.. But like you, don't own the greatest amount of tools. Don't wish to take my tire tool off and hook up a impact wrench to air hose. So I would be better off buying an electric impact wrench.

I don't know much- but use the same filters on my scooter as jerseyboy.. If change regularly, should have no problems. My scooter has been running for 5+ years with no major issues.
