My Dad lives in Warsaw MO on Lake Truman. He is sort of upset, that we are moving to Quincy IL. He wants us to move into the cabin we purchased from him. He is 71 years old and not getting younger. I think moving down to the lake is a better idea. It might upset the couple we went into halves on the cabin, but it is not like a permanent home for us. Only a place to get back on our feet and than move out. We could work on it too. So I am thinking of moving into it. What are your thoughts? Attachments:

Looks like a nice cabin...comfy and private. Just takes a little work to make it a home. If it helps you to get back on your feet...go for it. It may seem small to you now...but it can work. Doesn't hurt to downsize. All the stuff you've been telling yourself you don't need....here's your chance... I've lived on my sailboat two years.....talk about downsizing...lol. If your dad is close by...he'll enjoy having family around. Like you said...."he's not getting any younger". IMHO....think about it hard...you may just find a whole new freedom in life... Well it depends on if you have a job or not and how far away the cabin is from looking for and getting a job too. Plus whether the commute might be worth it or not.

Ya, Quincy has my middle child there. He is a prison guard for the State of Missouri. We decided it would make the couple angry. I rode my 250cc scooter up to Quincy last Sunday. 130 miles. Wife rode her Honda Rebel too. We will move there, next week. I also been practicing cupping the front brake, so think I can pass the riders test. A rider can ride between 14 and 20 mph on the test course. It is not to difficult to pass. Since riding to IL, my wife enjoyed the trip a lot. Now wants to ride to Sturgis in South Dakota, next year.
