I read in the Roketa 250 manual, that 110/ 12 front tire, is the size for the Roketa Bali 250. But on the tire size on the Roketa Bali 250 it says 4.00 x 12 tire. I investigated inched and metric tire size and for 4.00 x 12 tire is eqaul to 110/ 12 tires in metric. I got the metric 110/ 12 tire the other day and it is about a 1/3 inch wider than a 4.00 x 12 tire. Will that make a big difference in the way it fits on the rim? Thanks for responding. Attachments:

Mesh jackets are cool and body armor is great to have protection. I am going to get a mesh jacket soon, also.. Never can get enough protection.

I can find plenty of tire articles that say," Don't buy 5 year old tires". I bought 2 more tires from the Motorcycle Superstore. A 9 month old tire is not bad. A 4 year old tire is, if you don't ride often. A 2009 tire is crap and one risks danger of tire failure. A new tire should be less then 1 year old. Got free shipping on these tires, verses paying $29 + $20 shipping.. Attachments:

Chinese rear tire sale $19. 120/ 10.. Tire is Nov 2009. This is what I am talking about. I did not look at shipping- $20 extra.. Freakin nuts.. skuttadawg, I looked at the tires you sent me to, but Amazon has the same tires for less. The one I ordered and got in 2 days was a Michelin Bobber tire. It is better than Chinese crap. lol The tire is 507 load capacity but L rated for 75 mph. Costed $36 with free shipping and 9 month old. The tire experts say don't use a tire past 6 years old, but Roketa is trying to sale tires 4 years old.

Tires

What concerns me about buying different weight capacity tires, is having a blow out. I mean, the tires have a safety warning saying changing the load capacity or speed rating can be dangerous. It is ok to change to size greater than original equipment. Well I bought under original equipment because no one has my original equipment. Last tire I ordered through Roketa it was in 2010. The tire was 3 years old. Now with 3 1/2 years on it, the tire is dated as a 6 1/2 year old tire. So I don't want to pay Roketa $80 for a 3 year old tire. I spoke online with a person whom claimed I should be ok with the tire purchased from the Motorcycle Superstore. Should be--- it concerns me a bit..

Tires

Well, tires are my subject.. They still make 120/ 10 tires, it is hard to find Rated 66 for load capacity meaning 660 lbs.. The Honda Helix rear tire is the same size as the Bali 250, but all places seem out of stock or have only a Rated 65 Helix tire( weight capacity of 330). I bought a 120/ 10 tire Speed rate P 75 mph and a weight capacity of 57 which means 507 lbs is the max weight. The bail 250 weighs 271 and I weigh 175 lbs= 446 lbs. Helmet weight, jacket, boots, 3 gallons gas plus quart of oil and anti freeze put me at about 480 lbs. Might have to set the saddlebags off for a while. So it is hard to find my size of scooter tires now. The front tire uses a 4.00 x 12 tire. It also says 110/ 12 will fit also, so that is the tire I been searching for. So I found some 110/ 12 tire, rated P for mph, 64 for weight capacity of 617 lbs. They had no rated 66 for 660 lbs. Are the tire companies and Roketa going to stop making Bali 250's and Honda stopping the Helix tires. Can't find any tires rated 66 for 660 lbs..

Ya, Chinese scooters also don't really come with a warranty, unless bought through a local dealer. Most are ordered online, so they if they say there is a 1 year warranty, well the warranty cost you money. Say a major part goes out- you might have to ship the entire scooter back to them for repairs. If you work on it yourself, it voids any warranty. They don't tell you any of this stuff. My Chinese scooter is a good one. Has 7100 miles on it and runs great. Some maintenance is expected but all scooters are this way. Mine is a Roketa Bali 250.. Most scooters in general will last 1 year, problem free. Mine is going on 6 years old. My Bali 250 made a 300 round trip last November and made a trip from Jefferson City MO to Quincy IL this August. It is great riding on highways and expressways.

I like tested parts, but also like cheap parts. Roketa charges about $80 per tire. So I went to Amazon to order new tires. Paid $35 for a new rear tire-included shipping. My old rear tire was rated J for 62 mph and the new tire is rated L for 75 mph. Found a front tire that will fit my scooter for $33 on Amazon that is rated P for mph.. Both superb for cornering. My new L tire also was made 5012. Less than 1 year old. I need new roller weights, a clutch, and belt soon, going to buy this winter. Put on next Spring. Glad you are in business.

My two cents, is not worth a lot, but whether we ride a Chinese scooter or Jap scooter- some other country is collecting our money. It does not matter to Harley riders- they all wave at me while I ride my Chinese scooter with pride. China builds parts for Harley too. It is not that we are siding with the Cummunist, but more saying, business is business and we know a good deal when we see it. Most people that buy Chinese also can't afford the steeper prices of competitors.

Ya, that isn't to bad of a deal. I agree, if you buy it, better give a pdi.. Mine has 7000 miles and going strong. So they do make excellent scooters. Last trip was this summer, central Missouri to Quincy IL..
