So, today I came across a little problem that I didn't really think about until I got inside the store and saw the can of Rockstar i was going to buy. My first initial thought was; now I need to get soda in a bottle instead so i can ride with it. My second thought was, get a Monster with the twist off cap, but those things are flimsy and can still leak, and they are more expensive.
So while I was outside standing next to my bike trying to drink all 16oz of rockstar i thought where can I get a good tight seal cup/ mug that can hold liquid and keep it cool or warm. I do not want to put a cup holder on my bike, so this is my only option. I bought a tumbler from wal-mart for my soda at home, and the thing was crappy and broke fast.
What do you guys use? any suggestions?

Do you have a front panel hook? If so, get an insulated water bottle. Find one of those with a hook and some sort of wrap so it doesn't scratch your bike. Then pour your drink into that and hang it from the hook.
Just remember to always rinse it out thoroughly afterwards!

[replyingto=jdmsoldier]jdmsoldier[/replyingto]What I did is...get one of these from Wal Mart or any auto parts store. Plastic ones are about 1 dollar...metal ones are a few dollars. See the part that hooks over the window? Cut that off so the back strap is just a straight piece. Then drill and bolt it to the plastic housing on your steering panel. Ta da!...looks and works great.. Attachments:

We bought rock climbing chalk bags and used them. Not only do they make great drink holders, but can hold wallets, phones, sunglasses etc.

Seriously? If you can't wait to drink that till you get where you're going you need an intervention. You should try not to do anything but ride a motorcycle when riding a motorcycle... Be careful out there...

Cup holder is only for your passenger. You really should not be drinking or eating while operating a motorcycle or scooter as it is not what one would consider best practice.
Be carefull or you could end up riding like this guy:

I don't think the intent for most of us cup holder have-ers is to be able to drink while in motion, but to be able to carry an 'open' beverage from point A to point B on the scooter. And to have a sip at long stoplights

Too much bother with anything but a skull cap helmet with no real face or chin protection. I walk with a cane so I travel with the least amount of junk to deal with anyway. If I want a beverage I'll stop somewhere clean and safe to sit and enjoy one in safety. Actually lost about 40 lbs when I started riding and eliminated the snacks or beverages while commuting.

Put the can in your pants, and act like you just took viagra! Otherwise, the glove compartment should be able to host a can. Underseat storage gets hot, but you could also store it in the trunk. On my ATM50 I can fit anything from a medium to a large soda cup from fastfood restaurants. it fits just fine! Here's a small view of the glove compartment:
