We were living in Illinois, because we got over extented with bills, due to our son was not keeping his end of the deal. We would have had to let things go in order to afford a place here in Missouri. So we moved in with our middle son, in Quincy IL.. Neither me nor my wife, liked living in IL, because on a motorcycle permit, one still can't ride alone( have to have a licensed motorcycle rider with one). Health insurance was going to cost us more money in IL.. My son and his partner fought often and we felt uncomfortable living in there home, due to it and we were sleeping in the dining room. So our good friends, John and Ruby let us stay at there home, while searching for a home of our own. We found a place in Belle MO and started renting it yesterday. So when I think of good friends, well I think of John and Ruby taking us in. That is what true friends do for one another. My wifes Honda Rebel only has 2 more payments. So we are not bound to let it go back to the Bank.

My speedometer gives a bad reading on my Bali 250.. It works but will never give me an accurate reading. So instead of replacing the speedometer, I simply ordered a used Garmin off Amazon for $30.. It works good and can have a road map plus speedometer. Own the scooter since brand new.

I have a 3 gallon tank. It rarely spews over on my scooter. I used to fill it all the way and had some spew over, but went to under filling a tad to stop from the spewing effect.. It doesn't spew over with near empty, because with a 3 gallon tank it holds more. The spewing over only occurs if I get it to full.

Yep, impressive. A croc can get to 25 ft in length and weigh as much as 3000 lbs.. I think the Jag would never mess with a croc. They take down buffalo. They are nothing for a poor jag to mess with.

Windows 8

I bought a Windows 7 new at Walmart. 6 months later, my wife bought a Window 8.. She hates it because the touch bar is to sensitive and its starts other programs. Too me, Windows 7 is better for not changing programs in the middle of something. I just listen to my wife complain about it.

Ya, Kansas City and St Louis get 8 lanes wide in the city itself, but I-70 slow down too. Most of the way, I-70 is 4 lanes and 70 mph but inner city I-70 changes to 55 mph and more lanes. Now I drove through Dallas area, when picking up my son at AIT in Fort Bliss. That is one busy city ( Dallas and Fort Worth) Took us about 2 hours to get through it, during rush hour. I would have hated being on a scooter at that time. I know what you mean.
Most cities I have been around are fairly small- between 30,000 to 100,000 people. I was born and raised in San Jose CA and it was a fairly big area in 1982( Santa Clara County was 1.5 million people in 1982). But smaller areas, one does have it easier riding on Expressways and Interstate highways.. The more vehicles on the road, the more chances of being in a accident.
My wife and I ride together, which helps. Always riding with others can make cars notice a group more. Wearing bright colors helps too. In Missouri and Illinois the States have signs says, Watch for Motorcycles.. That helps somewhat. But like the other day, a motorcyclist was killed in a accident in Quincy. It still happens. But Illinois has a no helmet law which contributes to more deaths. I always wear my helmet. I also ride with caution, never speed, always am aware of my surrounding, try to slow others down early when coming to a stop light. Just make sure others are aware of me on the road too. People that generally get involved in a accident are riding to fast, not aware of their surroundings, may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

I own a Bali 250 with a CN250 engine in it. I was looking at fancy exhaust protectors on Amazon.com. I know these exhaust parts go to a different type of motorcycle, but one with chrome flame would look cool on a scooter. These parts are pretty cheap cost wise for cosmetic appearance. Not exactly what upgrades you was counting on.

Something else, I moved from central Missouri to Quincy IL.. A 120 mile trip on my scooter. Made the trip fine.. There were 70 mph highways, 65 mph highways, 60 mph highways, and 55 mph highways. Because the speed limit is 70 mph doesn't mean you must travel 70 mph.. You can move at 60 mph and be fine. Cars will pass you, but 60 mph is still fast enough to maintain your lane. In most States, 70 mph is Interstate speed, but they have a low speed too. Missouri is 40 mph.. I would not recommending you travel 40 mph on the Interstate. I would recommend you travel 60 to 65 mph and if you get caught in a jam, well you still have a little speed to get out of it. Use your mirrors to monitor traffic behind you and just stay at a steady speed. The best highways to travel are 4 lane highways, because cars can pass safely, most are divided by guard rails for your protection of oncoming traffic, lets you concentrate on what is going on behind you. The main thing is you do not have to travel at 70 mph to ride safely on the freeway. Most 250cc scooters will not maintain a speed of 70 mph up hill.. I think my wife's Rebel 250 will barely go a tad faster than my Bali 250. Mine is quicker at take off and hers is about 5 mph more at top end.

If memory serves me, a J rated tire is good at max speed of 62 mph, but that the tire was tested at 100 mph and the producers of tires rate the best speed rating for a particular tire. So on a J tire, you are advised to ride at a max speed of 62 mph but like on my Bali 250, I hit speeds of 75 mph moving down hill. It can do higher speeds than 62 mph for spurts. This also means you can sustain a speed of 62 mph for a long distance. Doing long distance travel at 70 mph on a J rated tire is not advised.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am disabled from a stroke. Lived in Missouri and had a permit- let me ride in daylight hours with no passengers. Well, moved to Illinois and a permit here is - can ride with a licensed rider and no highways. My MO permit ran out 2 weeks ago. So I am still trying to get more use out of my right hand, to pass the riding test. It will be better in 6 months- hope to fix scooter up while working on opening and closing hand. Scooter needs new tires- got new tires now need to place on scoot. Oil change, gear oil change, fuel filter, spark plug, check vacuum lines,.. May change belt, roller weights, and clutch.

Well, there is about a 1/2 inch tire space between the old 4.00 x 12 tire and the fender. Maybe 3/4th.. I am not real concerned about this, because I am sure it will fit in. The width concerns me a bit more. It appears almost the same width as the rear tire. I looked at alot of tire comparison sites on the web, all say 110/ is the closest to 3.75/ 4.00.. But 110/ 12 is a wider tire than 4.00 x 12.. But that might not be to wide because my 4.00 x 12 tire has a good inch of side play on fender. But the only way to tell, is bring to a tire place to see. Now the computer said, the measurements were not 100%- just that they were as close as they could get. I still think it is worth checking out, because if it fits, I can buy $35 tires verses $80 from Roketa.

Now I know Roketa says this tire will fit, in the back of the owners manual. I decided to investigate what size of tire was on the Honda Foresight 250- front tire is 110/ 12.. I really can't tell the width of rim on the Foresight.
