The front was a 4.00 12 Chinese tire originally and the tire I got on front now is 110/ 12( it means tire is 4.25 width, means sidewall is % of width( so about 4.00, 12 is rim size. It is the closest size tire to 4.00 12. The only thing that bothers me is the max pressure being more than rear tire. But it should hold still if air pressure is around 39 lbs.. Remember max air pressure just means simply don't put more than 41 lbs in the tire. Less air pressure is ok. Just not to low that the scooter rides running. Tire mismatching also means don't put a nobby tire on front and a street tire on rear. On my scooter, it originally came with tire street tires on it. The first time I ordered a front tire, well it was dual street and trail. I was not happy. The Shinko tire is strickly street now. So it matches the rear tire. Gives better traction and handles corners better.

I read up on tires and got a matching pair as suggest( meaning both are Shinko tires). Don't want to miss match tires. The front is a 12 and P rated. The rear is a 10 and a J rate( 62 mph). About the J rated tire- they test them at up to 100 mph.. The recommended speed is always lower than when tested. My concern is the front is a P rated tire( holds 41 lbs of pressure and the rear being a J only holds 32 lbs of pressure. The pressure the front tire held was 32 lbs on Chinese tire. Tread patterns are why they suggest not mismatching tires. My 12 inch tire was only gotten through China and I got the tire purchased new- 4 years old. Tire companies suggest changing after 5 years old. The P rated tire also reads a slight difference in size( old tire was a metric tire size and new size is standard size). I read around on different sites, to findout what standard size fitted the metric size. Honda changed my tires and it fit fine. Saved me about $45 to order this tire in a P rated tire. It is only 6 months old. Shinko is also South Korean tires. So they should be better built tires than a Chinese tire. The major difference in my Chinese 12 compared to a Korean 12 was a 1/4 inch wider tire. That computes to about a 1/8 inch wider on both sides to fit. Had about 1/2 inch on both sides of fender so tire fitted. It is on scooter today..

Ya, pretty stupid State laws.. By IL I was told to either get a licensed motorcyclist to ride with me or take it there is a pickup. I thought, what a backward State, because I knew no one in IL... So I moved back to MO where one can ride legally on a permit. All that is required in MO is a $3 class M permit to operate a motorcycle: operate in daylight hours only, no passengers aloud, must wear helmet. CA also had these same rules, if memory is right. I knew a guy whom passed the written exam class M in CA at age 16, passed the written exam of drivers exam and could ride legally: no passengers and only in daylight hours. But CA had a long written test and to ride legally he could only miss 10% of the questions.

Yes, my Roketa Bali 250 came with more wire harness than actually needed. I feel this was intended for in case I wanted to connect a different stereo, different lights, alarm, ect.. It is ok to disconnect from the harness..

Ya, a new carb should be about $194- if memory serves my right. Roketa Bali 250 and Tank Touring 250 are the exact same scooters. Carb from Roketa is $194.. Carb one can buy cheaper through online scooter parts stores.
Also might check Honda for parts off the carb.. The Honda Helix 250 has some parts that are inter changeable with my Roketa Bali 250 and Tank Touring 250. It is because they both use the 244cc engine.

Looks nice.. My mirrors shattered when scoot blew over in a wind storm. I bought the same type mirrors for mine with insurance money. Also the windshield smashed, parts broke was $550 in damages. Mine was all cosmetic. The engine runs great still. I have to say, you are fixing it up nice..
I bought led lights and placed on windshield. The led lights were to replace the mirror lights. The scooter originally came with mirror lights that connected under the dash. I simply connected the wires to led lights. They were the led lights type that you peal off plastic film and stick to something( 3M tape). Bought at Orielys.. Led lights work with hazard light and turn signals.

Well, I am 49 years old and had a severe stroke at age 16. It for me, is the scooter is easier to handle. I own a 250cc scooter that on level ground hits 65 to 70 mph( highway speeds). Rode a lot of long distant trips- from Holts Summit, MO to Quincy IL, Holts Summit to Marshall, MO , Belle MO to Columbia.. But the main thing is having fun on your scooter or motorcycle. Automatic is basically simpler to handle. Give gas and go. No shifting gears. It allows me time to view scenery on a country highway and be more cautious in tight traffic areas.

Ya, I brought my tire and rim to be changed at Goodyear. They used a screw driver and bent the rim. I figured it would be ok because it held air. After placing back on scoot, got a 1/2 mile up the road and 35 mph the rim gave and tire went flat instantly. Came off the rim. Had to order a new rim and have tire replaced. This time brought to Honda shop and had machine put tire on rim. Machines get it correct everytime.

I was wondering what the difference in a computer verses a ipad?. So I ordered one from Amazon for $50 new from China, $10 for accident protection, and $10 for a tablet case with keyboard. Well instead of programs it has apps. Apps don't require as much memory. On my front page it has a weather app, a worldwide internet, calculator app, Wi-Fi settins app, settings app, downloads app, my pad app, and a box to next page. The internet app at It is the ride, and most anything a computer has. The next page I put 3D bowling, Amazon, Book Reader, Camera, Clock, Facebook, Gmail, Google search, Market( place to get new apps), Manga comics, TV.com, Watch movies for free, Youtube, News,.. Had Netflix but it took up to much memory. But in reality, I enjoy it a lot. It is cheap but offers a lot for the buck. Little and personal. Wife can warch tv as I watch Youtube and listen with earphones on. I wrote stuff on facebook to friends, ordered from Amazon, 3D bowling hi score 225 average 135. Market has a lot of free apps- all my apps are free apps except Netflix. Does anyone else have a ipad? What are your thoughts?

You may recall my wife and I moved back to Missouri from Quincy, IL. around 2 weeks ago. Well, we could not get everything in one load, so we left my 250cc scooter behind. Well, we went and got it and other stuff. My scooter was sitting in my son's backyard, covering with a tarp, and covered in snow and ice. The ground was very slick. So I uncovered the scooter and started shoveling snow and ice. I turned the scooter around on the concrete porch- slick. Pushed it a little way in the yard. I got to shoveling and noticed I would hit leaves from the trees. So I had the idea, that I would put leaves around the scooter tires on the ground and push it. Well, the scooter weighs 330 lbs and on snow is heavier, pushing uphill makes more difficult, and because you have to not slip or scooter will fall. So I decided to try and start it up. Now I thought the weather being winter like, well it might not start. Had been as low as 7 degrees at night and this was morning at 26 degrees. Had no trickle charger and anyway to get a jump. So I turned it over.. it cranked but had been sitting for 3 weeks. A little slow cranking, but it cranked. I believe in giving the battery a break and so not to drain all the juice out of the battery. I would crank a few seconds, than stop and give a little throttle to be sure it was getting gasoline( 3 weeks of sitting is long time, for as cold as it was). Well, it eventually started for about 3 seconds and died. I continued and it started again for 6 seconds. I then gave no more throttle just cranked it and it started up and kept running. I waited for it to warm up, while I made the trail of tree leaves up the hill to the top. Now warmed up, I rode up the hill as if on pavement. Even rode about 15 ft in the regular snow and if not had gently braked, well I think the scooter would have kept going fine. But I stopped to make sure I had leaves under my path. I got through the backyard, rode carefully through a alley( some ice and snow was still on it). My son's road infront of his home, is still covered with snow and ice. Mean 3 inches of solid ice. It was taken slow, but I got through it and on the trailer it went. It was a thrill but scarey too. Got back to Missouri( Belle) and our snow all melted off. We had 9 inches of snow, but the past 3 days have been in the 40's and 50's. It is gone. Seen people out riding their motorcycles in Belle.

State of IL can turn a good citizen into a hardened criminal. If you get to many parking tickets, your drivers license can be suspended. If you neglect to pay your childsupport, your drivers license can be suspended. So it is not like most States, where you must be doing something wrong with your drivers license to be under threat of loosing priveledges. A guy I met in IL, name Brad, had some children and got behind in childsupport. Brad had his drivers license suppended. This made it difficult on him to secure jobs, because he could not drive to and from work. He signed up for food assistance. He finally found work, about 3 miles from his home. He decided on cold days to drive back and forth to work. Well, he eventually got stopped for improper display of a license plate. Brad when asked by a police officer, Whats your name? Brad answered, Gave his brothers name. The Officer recognized him and said, No, that is wrong. So the cop preseded to place him under arrest. Instead of just Driving under suspension and Improper Display of Plates- now Brad had two more charges. Lieing to a Officer and Obstruction of Justice. Lie to a Officer carries 3 to 6 years in jail, Obstruction of Justice carries 1 to 3 years in jail and a $25,000 fine. So now it is more than a petty crime of driving under suspension and possibly prison time. Brad now spent one night in jail and had a $3000 bond- $300 to get out, court fees, lawyer fees, ect.. Still might do prison time too.
In CA and MO it is legal to ride on a permit. You must ride with no passengers and ride in daylight hours. In IL you can get a permit but you must find a licensed rider over 21 to ride with. Meaning a permit does not allow one to ride still and learn his own motorcycle. That sounds half backwards. It has these stipulations to purposely get good citizens into trouble. Say I have a IL permit to ride a motorcycle. Know a nieghbor whom agrees to ride with me. Well, if the neighbor takes off on a road faster than 35 mph, well I can't follow, or I break the law. If he gets angry at me, well he can ride off on a highway, I thus am stranded and if I ride home, I break the law. The laws are to make a good citizen and criminal.
I inquired about IL motorcycle laws from the Attorney General. He told me, you must get a permit and find someone to ride with. That if I could not find someone to ride with, than I must put it in the back of my pickup and try for a IL motorcycle license, by driving my truck to the license bureau unloading motorcycle, take test. That was the stupidest suggestion I have ever heard of. If I wasn't from MO. I would not even have the practice time on my bike to take the test. If I had just bought the bike in IL, no practice time would be crazy.

Yes, very good advice. We have one credit card- an Amazon card.. I use it mainly for scooter supplies. Tires, lightbulbs, sissy bar for Rebel, and luggage bags. The things needed paying off is a loan on truck $200 for 3 years, security finance $240 for 9 months, and quit going in the hole with checking account. It cost $50 for every check we write for overdraft protection. That adds up pretty fast when writing 5 checks. We need overdraft to get into house at the start. But not going to continue this way. We will quit, since I am taking over the finances. We have satelite tv which runs $100 per month, phone and internet which runs $80 per month, netflix that cost $8 per month( like that because can watch movies on android tablet). There is an art gallery where we are moving( can sell some art through it to make extra spending money). The is going to be helpful.
Bills Income
Rent $375 SSDI $2200 Sec Fin $240 Gallery can earn $600 monthly Rebel $167 Insur $125 Truck $200 Amazon $25 Electric $140 Phone/ In $80 Netflix $8 Satelite $100 Food $200 - We don't eat as much as our grown boys.. Total $1606- Saving about $600
Some money will go toward medical bills and perscriptions. There is a propane furnace where we are moving, but using inferred heaters will save money on propane. They do not get hot at the sockets like the old coil type space heaters. We are moving into a 800 sq foot home- smaller home with full basement. It was my wifes great grandmothers home. It has been remodeled and her cousin owns the house now. But it is a nice house.
I got credit to buy the Honda Rebel by having Security Finance. So we are thankful to Security Finance. I have a credit through Amazon but that isn't a major credit card. Have had offers through CapitalOne, but declined it. Eventually my hope is to get a bank loan to buy a house. So need good credit with certain financial institutions. Need to start selling art too, so I can earn some money too. Right now, it is just SSDI that controls my credit but really would like to make my own living too.
