Hello everyone, I 've been away from d forum for medical issues, we moved to Port Charlotte Fl, walked into this hosp to have back surgery, & came out on a wheelchair . I 'm undergoing pt, but d problem is that I had 3 surgeries in less than a month, I had a neurostimulator that wasn't working rt, so d dr went in to replaced it, when I woke up, I couldn't move or feel my rt leg. another dr came removed all d wires from my spine, I started to get some sensation back on my legs, then d stimulator that the 1st had changed & was behind my rt hip got infected & had to come out. so I have my scoot back in KC, MO, & I have to bring it here. Now I saw on anther forum, about this guy named Pastor Chet, his post was tittled, How to build a trike for less than $700. dollars. I wonder if it can be used on a Tank 150 cc, I'm trying to post pictures of my scoot. I also wonder if there's a lot of welding, I 'm not too good at that. I think that is not too hard to do, because all you do is get a small trailer & cut into it. Thanks for any help. Latter. Louie.

Sorry to hear about your medical issues and wish you a speedy and full recovery. I actually never heard of a do-it-yourself trike conversion for a 150cc, but just did a google search and this is the first thing that came up: www.tcscooters.com/trikes.htm Its $1,000, a bit higher than your budget. I will do some more research and post if I see something good. I wonder, though, if it makes sense to buy a good trike, like an icebear, maybe used. Best wishes, Mike

I would take my budget and sell the scooter you have now. With that you should be able to get a true trike. You have to take into account the time you would have in building it also with medical problems. You can find some good used trikes if you shop around some. I know the 50cc trikes here go for about 700 dollars. It should be that much more for a 150cc.

Sorry to hear about your medical issues. Florida should be an easier place to find a used trike than some other parts of the country. I agree with PCB, sell your 150 and find a used trike and seave yourself a lot of headaches.
Take Care

I know your post says you want to build a trike for less than 700. I was searching CL a while ago and saw 2 auto moto trikes for $900 honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/mcy/4041648649.html , one working, one not. Realize that deals like that don't exist in every state, but maybe worth a search. Hope u get better soon.

I hope to get better so you can enjoy riding again . I would be skeered ( slang of scared ) to ride a scoot converted into a trike . I had ridden a few offroad ATCs and found they were not stable as I flipped em over . Now I was a wild teen having fun in the dirt instead of on pavement .
I am curious to learn how a reverse trike rides and handles after seeing a few China RTs , some MP3s and Can AM Spyders which are waaaaaaaaaay over priced .
A friend who has a crippling disease and used to ride a Harley got a custom made HD trike that she could roll into it while in her wheelchair since she could no longer lift up her legs over the seat of her Sportster

I am beginning to think that the trikes are a answer for some of the people that have disabilities ,a couple have already answered your post. I have a problem with balance on a two wheeler ,so I got myself a Chinese 3 wheeler. It was the answer to my problem, balance is perfect for me now . These Chinese trike can be had new for 1200.00 to 1800'00,and with sales you can get one for 1200.00 and up. As all on this forum will tell you ,you have to do your upkeep .This is my second Chinese scooter and I have found them reliable in my experience but as I say there is some maintenance . I am able to do the work and I am a pretty old guy, so I expect you younger guys can do it . I do agree with the others ,that making a 3wheeler could be a problem, and you might be better off selling you 2 wheeler and seriously considering a trike. It could be the answer to your problem. I am very sorry about your medical problems as I have had some also and I feel buying this 3 wheeler and working on it has given me a new lease on life. Good Luck on what ever you decide.

A regular Ice Bear I believe My 300cc will barely do 60, cause it's so heavy, then add my 300lb fat a s s and it's a wonder it even gets outa the geerage.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am disabled from a stroke. Lived in Missouri and had a permit- let me ride in daylight hours with no passengers. Well, moved to Illinois and a permit here is - can ride with a licensed rider and no highways. My MO permit ran out 2 weeks ago. So I am still trying to get more use out of my right hand, to pass the riding test. It will be better in 6 months- hope to fix scooter up while working on opening and closing hand. Scooter needs new tires- got new tires now need to place on scoot. Oil change, gear oil change, fuel filter, spark plug, check vacuum lines,.. May change belt, roller weights, and clutch.
