I will buying a used 2012 Roketa MC 13 250 this coming Thursday. It has 800 miles on it and the engine sounds great. Body is in great shape. He is moving about 6 hours away so wants to sell it. He originally wanted 2k and I have got him down to $1,300. The owner told me the one and only oil and gear oil change was three weeks ago. With everyone here with so much experience, does this sound like a good deal? I have not been on a motorcycle or scooter in 25+ years. I don't mind at all doing most of the work on the scooter. I just cant afford to throw away $1,300 on a bad buy. And yes $1,300 or 1,400 is all I can spend. What do you think? Thank you all for your thoughts.

I need a scooter for a ride to work. About 4 to 5 miles there.... Also have a Yamaha 125 Vino 2008 about 3.8k miles. Runs great as well. Wants 1k. Once in a blue moon, will be giving a ride to someone to their work that is any even a shorter commute. Keep second guessing myself as to what I should do. But the Yamaha seems to be calling my name even more so than the 250cc..... Argh.....

If you are going to be doing any two up riding at all go with the Roketa. I have one of the MC-13-250's and it is a good running, comfortable machine.

It comes down to what you want. Some folks might feel better with a brand name scoot, others might opt for double the power the 250 possesses and just pdi the heck out of it. (one of the benefits of being able to turn a wrench)

Ya, that isn't to bad of a deal. I agree, if you buy it, better give a pdi.. Mine has 7000 miles and going strong. So they do make excellent scooters. Last trip was this summer, central Missouri to Quincy IL..

Ride them and see the difference one will speak to you. The Yamaha will do fine 2 up around town. That little bike might surprise you...
