Yes, moving to Illinois might seem terrible for a disabled rider, because of the permit rules. In MO I can ride all over the State on a permit- just no passengers and ride in daylight hours. In IL I can only ride in daylight hours and no passengers, but also need to be riding with a licensed rider age 21 with a year under his belt. What the ..... Don't even know anyone from IL that would ride with a Chinese 250cc scooter rider..lol.. But I noticed they give accommodations to disabled riders.. I don't know what the accommodations are, so I wrote a email to the University of Illinois, explaining my condition and asked what they could do for me to accommodate me. Told them I suffered a severe stroke at age 16, in 1981. In 1993 bought my first 49cc scooter and in 2008 bought my first 250cc scooter. That I have been riding mostly highways and have 6800 miles on it today. Told him been riding for about 20 years and never had an accident. Don't actually feel comfortable on someone elses motorcycle and prefer riding my own 250cc scooter. That my right hand sometime can grab the front brake and sometimes not( if cold out hand tends to close up some and if try opening and closing repetitively well can't). Mostly use the rear brake and sometimes the front. But adjust speed to not be to close to the driver in front of me, keep a even pace so cars don't gain on me too. Wear protective gear.. Use mirrors a lot.. But hopefully I hear back on how they can accommodate me. Attachments:

Can't you just get your license. I'm sure there is a MSF course willing to work with you through the course. I m sure you could pass the test now disabled as well. Any way we will pray you get it sorted

I will go through the motorcycle course on my scooter. Talked to a guy that gives the course in Illinois. It cost $20 and there is a course given in Quincy, where I am moving too. I will have to pass the class M written test so I can ride to classes with a licensed rider. Show proof of full coverage insurance. If fail the course for any reason, well I can still take the riding test by Illinois.. I can practice the test at the site, over the weekends until ready too. Attachments:

I will go through the motorcycle course on my scooter. Talked to a guy that gives the course in Illinois. It cost $20... it is $275 here. depending on which school, i've seen it as low as $225. does a motorcycle endorsement transfer to another state or will you be required to take the class again? (asking for me as i don't plan to stay in florida) any chance the university can install a foot break for you? that would be a cool modification. edit: use of smiles are a bit over the top for me today, lol. hope you got extra gigabits JR. ;D

My class was 200 I think, about 50 off the normal price. I got into the last class of the year. Transfers should work. Mayne they would require a new written test when it is time to renew.
Things that won't work: a rider from Wisconsin cannot just cross the boarder to Illinois to take a $20 course and then have a valid WI endorsement. Is it Ohio that has a free MSC? Imagine all the new riders vacationing in OH just to take the free course!

$275 here too unless you want to wait for ever then you can take the state course for $125. It's free to fail the test $20 bucks if you pass. You must set an appointment for the test and only one person is able to give the test in Albuquerque miles away from me. This year they were book solid for the year by March...

$20 is a deposit.. They have 3 different courses. The one I am taking is a Basic motorcycle course- 20 hrs long.. It is held Fri, Sat, and Sun.. This course is basically free to IL students that wish to obtain a motorcycle license. They have motorcycles that the class uses, but since I wish to use my own 250cc scooter- they will accommodate me due to handicapped. I still need to provide full coverage insurance and make sure scooter is in good condition. I noticed the other day, one headlight bulb is out- $6 cost, and need two new tires. So will not be riding much due to that. A 4 year class M license will cost me $10..
