I think we all get the itch to trade up at times, Recently I actually put Fawkes on CL.. The ad said not for sale but will trade for motorcycle... Got some interesting offers, but in the end I simply could not part with him. I think the only way I would trade him is for my old 1980 KZ 550, sure loved and miss that bike.. I think each and every one of us would miss Fawkes if you got rid it.

If you haven't heard beginning July 1 Virginia will require all scooters be titled and registered. Here is a good link to the forms you will need... www.dmv.org/va-virginia/other-types.phpVA is near the top for personalized license plates so it got me to thinking of a personalized tag for my scooter. So far my fave is; GOARND Give me some more ideas.

I have a friend who sold her ex boyfriends scooter on craigslist. It was a 50cc, 12" tires with just less than 1k miles. She told me she was asking $800 and I thought good luck with that. She sold it for $700 and I thought that was a great deal for her. I would have never paid $700. So I say fix it, and ask $800. You can always come down.

Replace the $10 part and you'll double your money.

This is why some businesses fail. Good luck with your new venture.

Meeting at McD's for breakfast and then going for a long ride sounds like fun. Anyone in the Fredericksburg, VA area want to meet up?

Are you sure the valve stem innards just haven't become unscrewed? Get a valve stem tool and screw it in and you may fix your problem.

If it were the first time you had made such statements about the 'other guys' I wouldn't have said anything.
Personally I don't know where you get off on passing judgement on others for what they say in their opinions about anything and frankly could I care less what you have said about my statements on the "other guys", don't like what I have to say then don't bother to post or answer, at least here you have the right to voice your opinion no matter if it isn't appreciated, that's more than Jim and I have there because of being banned for expressing our opinions. Don't join the same crowd here. What you might do since you seem so excited about the "other guys" is mention to them that everyone has an opinion like people on the Ride do and see if they want to listen like we do here. Until then keep the statements of the "other guys" to yourself. They can come here and speak for themselves.

10-4, I understand JR. Let me just say that I do appreciate your forum and what you do.

I frequent both equally. My only point is its very unbecoming of the owner of the forum to come on here and bash or dissuade people from using the other forum. As far as traffic... I hadn't checked stats. It only seems that as of late the 'other one' is more active. I guess with all that I've got going on I'm late to the party on answering this one. First of all I don't know where I bashed anyone, nor did I dissuade anyone from going there, I voiced a opinion on what the owner posted which ended up being a April's Fool and a good one at that. My opinion was based upon what the owner said and last time I checked I have a right to my opinion.
I said that IMO if he charged he would drive the nails in the forum's coffin and that opinion still holds.
You might need to start checking stats instead of making statements based upon no facts and since the "other one" was formed and this one later behind it we have more posts, threads and just lately hitting 2000 members speaks for itself and that is not based on what "seems to me" anything, but facts.
So when you're choosing such words as unbecoming you need to take a look at what was really said and get off that high horse. I can think of a lot of words that goes with your statement and unbecoming isn't one of them.

You're removing the existing material and then relining the brakes and clutch? I didn't even know you could do that. Now I'm extremely curious. Is it a kit or what? Point me some where that I can get more info. Not that i'm thinking of doing it but now I have to know.

Why not just buy a socket set from Harbor Freight instead of guessing and buying them inividually?

I don't know but it sounds like your wife keeps really close tabs on you. Are you sure you just don't want another scooter?
