I like the can log. Not sure if its worth the time and effort, but its frugal and amusing at the same time. I hope you can get enough cans to completely subsidize your fuel, and give us a 'miles per can' or mpc rating

Here is my .02.... I like to tinker and would like a BBK too, but right now its so reliable and runs just fine as is that i can't bring myself to tear it open. I know there is a good chance of sacrificing the current reliablilty if i do. Is that worth a couple mph? Once its worn out and needs an overhaul i'll put on a BBK, but not now. If you are not that mechanically inclined (building computers won't help you here), i'd ask yourself if you are willing to sacrifice reliabity for a couple mph.

I must be immune to ethanol related fuel problems. I read about everyone having problems but i've experienced zero. Boat, scooter, outdoor equipment... none have had any issies and start right up after storage. I don't take any special precautions other than some stabizer when stored. Am i just lucky? I think the problems with ethanol are way overblown, or its just easy to blame ethanol for problems that are totally unrelated to ethanol.

When driven a distance wide open my 50cc routinely gets 105-110 mpg. I thought this wide open driving would hurt the efficiency, but i was wrong. It just doesn't like stop lights/signs. The odometer is in miles and gps verified to be accurate.

My placard is on the panel by my left knee. I don't know what you call the part. Its riveted on and lists the manufacturer, tire psi, spark plug gap, oil weight, etc. Its a Roketa 50cc.

The placard on my scooter says to use 15w-40, so thats what i use. It has no problem starting. Coldest i've started it is 40 and it didn't even strain.
+1 on the no need to over anal-ize it.

Just don't pay more for your helmet and gear than you did your scooter. You can get a good helmet for $40 and denim is great and a perfect substitute for leather. I'm a 'professional' as well and i haven't had to spend a lot of cash on expensive gear.
