I know there are some here that belong to the other place that still calls themselves Scootdawg and IMO this will be the final nails in the coffin for that forum.
So for all that still seem to have hard feelings from the split a little over a year ago I hope that you will consider coming back and hanging your hat where the true dawgs still come.
Let all the hard feelings of the past leave and let's all get under one roof again.

I'm sorry, I have never encountered a forum that charges to belong and post. Not that I'm a member of all that many. I pretty much hang out here and on ABNA, with occasional grazes all over. I've checked into membership at others (mostly flute forums, but some bikes and writing and a couple business-types) and not one has mentioned a membership fee.
Maybe he's looked at professional sites? And that's why he thinks $3 an hour is cheap??
Regardless, I'll be out as soon as he implements this. I will not have a Paypal account due to their clause that if anyone (including a Paypal employee) steals my ccard info, *I* am responsible for all felonious charges.

Btb, thanks to you JR and to Doug for maintaining this forum, and for keeping it free (as forums should be). I think I'm glad I ended up spending my time here and not there.
Nothing against SD.net, I'm sure it's warm and friendly too...behind the cha-ching of the register charging you just to come into the store, I mean forum. Hm. I wonder how they'll charge visitors for reading and grazing?

SylvreKat the way to keep out of problems like you are afraid of with paypal is to use a prepaid card and just put enough to cover your purchases on it at a time

It's easier than that. If I find something on ebay, I email and ask if they accept non-Paypal. If not, I don't bid. Only a few sellers have said no.
I've gone this long without cowing to Paypal's illegal clause, I think I'll continue doing fine without Paypal. At least 'til our admins here bow to the supposed inevitable and start charging like so many other forums (the ones I haven't found) apparently are doing. Or whatever.

All this proves is that the Admin over there is out for one thing, to fill his pockets. He may say he is there to help, and even bash people who have moved on saying they weren't there to help anyways. I have been around forums and groups for a VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYY long time and have never seen a paid forum/group, even back in the old msn days. Some ask for donations but not an out and out charge per hour/ day or month. The top 3 scooter forums don't even charge for vendor banners like that place does. Some may think I have a grudge to grind about them because of how I was treated when I decided to leave that forum and his illegal re posting of my posts. Heck he even changed my name to guest 2 when he banned me so the posts would stay. I just don't even go there to look as a guest at all anymore. I said what I had to say back then and changed the first picture on 2 of my posts (which I did by changing the picture on the original link and then changed the link on other boards so as not to have the same picture) , which he didn't delete, heck he probably doesn't even know it was done and that was last year. LOL www.scootdawg.net/showthread.php?t=52767www.scootdawg.net/showthread.php?t=52779I am sure his membership will drop dramatically if he goes thru with charging people.

WOW!! Charging per hour, people could rack up a good size bills, just think 1 hour per day per month $ .00 bucks. There will be a mass exit of folks if implemented and even if not I think the forum is going nowhere and he will eventually shut it down and take the losses. But like JR said everyone and anyone is welcomed back, Here, ScooterDoc and Professor. A lot of folks are members of all three and its FREE. Alleyoop

i use to belong to a forum that started charging. well, actually still do just don't log in there much anymore. they set it up so a section was closed to non-subscribers. most of the forum was still free. it was a small fee, think $3 per month iicr and i would have probably paid but many of the paying members got a huge stick up their you know where towards non paying members... so no thanks, i didn't need the info that bad.
