I put a hole in the side of a water bottle and made a "Catch can". I kinda figured it was oil i was just concerned that it was a greyish white color. Shouldn't it be the same color as the oil?

The ethanol in your gas is not the problem except if it has absorbed some water. But you actually could solve your problem with ethanol. I can almost guarantee you if you put e- in it your will never have another problem with knocking. But you will need to upjet since ethanol's stochiometric ratio is lower than gas. Gasoline is 14.7:1 and I believe Ethanol is around 12:1. Ethanol also burns at a lower temperature which is always nice when you have an air cooled engine. Your mileage will suffer tho. Probably drop off about 15-20 mpg.

There fine as long as you stay under 62 mph. The j is the speed rating. And j is for up to 62 mph.

If you wanna ride off road mostly I would highly recommend you sell your moped and get a pit bike. Mopeds are not designed to go off road and they ride horribly. The suspension is designed to absorb bumps on a road not larder bumps off road. Anyways if you really do want to put the dirtbike tire on it make sure the tire you get is speed rated to at least "J" (62mph) so you don't have blowout. And if the tire you get needs a tube have a tube with you when you go to the tire shop as they most likely are not going to carry 12inch tubes.

My girlfriends Wildfire 150 Helix clone gets close to . That was before I knew I was supposed be maintaining it. so put in a new plug, oil, rear gear oil, changed the air in the tyre, muffler bearings, cleaned the windscreen and started using the good gas. Haven't been able to do any long rides yet, but after I get the trike broke in, we'll do another Sunday country ride and compare mileage again. Good thing you replaced those muffler bearings and changed the air in your tires. That can get dangerous if you don't do that.

Since I have a free flow air filter I just kinda have my Valve Cover breather hose routed off to the side. After riding it to work I noticed that there was white fluid spit out onto my CVT cover and found that it was coming from the valve cover breather tube. Does anyone have any idea what this would be?
It's a 150cc motor.

Also post your mileage below along with your mods and what type of scooter, wheel/tire size, psi you ride at, and anything else you feel is relevant.

8 gram rollers are probably going to be a little too heavy. I used them with my BBK and ended up going down to a 6.5 and the top end and acceleration both improved. My Top end only gained about 5 to 8 mph but the acceleration was drastically improved. All the other "bells and whistles" you may want probably arent going to do anything. Aftermarket "racing" CDI's and ignition coils are the same as the factory ones just in fancy packaging unless you go with the pretty expensive brand name ones.

If your going to pull the head you may as well replace the rings too as long as your in there already. But before you do that set your valve lash. You could just have a valve hung open.

The few cents you will save in gas will be far outweighed by the money you will spend when your engine throws the rod. Or seizes up. Just go with a synthetic to help with gas mileage is your best bet.

I check them if they look flat or if it feels like my scoot is dragging.
I go a few psi below the rating on the sidewall. NEVER just go off the scooters tire placard as in some cases it may exceed the tires max psi rating.

It doesn't go to anything. Its correct how it is. Sometimes there will be a metal clip on the front of the CVT cover to hold it from flopping around but it does not plug into anything. Its just so if you need to drain the gas out of your carb you can do so without spilling gas all over.

[quote author=indymoped board=general thread=1350 post=13092 time=1366633936 This thread is about a 150cc. On a 50cc, unless you're talking about a 2 stroke, 50MPH is the max speed you would be able to get out of it; unless you got a lot of wind from the rear. I was comparing my old modified 50cc's top speed to my 150cc's top speed and saying it was odd to me that I only could get about 8 more MPH from a 50cc than a 150cc on the same size frame.

Your engine mounts are too far forward to deal with the touque of the 150 to start with and you may need heavier rollers to match things up better. You may need to change up the gearing if the bike the 150 came from had larger wheels which would be geared lower than on a bike with 10 inch wheels. I have the 12 inch rim and tire in back which came with the 150 engine so the gearing is the same. Ill take the variator apart and see what roller weights I have. I don't want to do any modifications to the engine itself. So a BBK is out of the question. So it sounds like everyone agrees that I should go with heavier roller weights and possibly a performance variator. Since I have a free flow air filter I'll need to up-jet and I may possibly get a performance exhaust. I just have to find a reasonably priced one. I was just hopeing that there was something out of tune with the engine since my modified 50cc could reach 45mph and many people on here have claims of 55 to 60 on a 50cc.
