Seems odd that you can't get off a bolt that you put on yourself, especially one that is removed and replaced so often. The question that first comes to mind would be "You're turning it the right way right?" Just sayin'.

I too believe it has something to do with the Woodruff Key. You should recheck your work.

I can't run at WOT, for very long anyway because my float chamber runs dry, but I do run at 45 mph as that is the speed limit on the roads that I drive on. And being that I live in North Mississippi it's quite hot here. + in the summer. But now that I know I'll be changing it sooner. I should have known better as I would never have let my cars' oil get that dark. I'll be keeping a closer eye on it from now on. Live and learn. Thanks for the heads-up (ya'll).

I pulled my belt, etc. cover for a 1,000 mile inspection. Except for the initial belt wear dust, which I cleaned out, everything else looked ok to me so I put it back together. It had a Bando Belt. They any good? I also changed the engine oil and found out not to go 700 miles between oil changes. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

I changed my oil for the first time at 300 miles, like was recommended. It then said every 1,000 miles thereafter. I decided to make it easy and change it when it hit 1,000 miles, which makes 700 miles since I changed the oil last.
What I drained was black oil. It was a nice golden color when I put it in. Yamalube 10W40. Is it normal that the oil be black as the ace of spades after 700 miles?

I looked at it some time ago, when I first found out about "the issue" but I figured that I best leave well enough alone for I'd have messed it up if I adjusted it. I thought about installing a higher output "pump" but again, I can get along with it by just adjusting my driving habits. It aint no big deal.

Well I have one of those Vacuum Operated Fuel Valves on my Scoot because my gas tank is way lower than my carb. After trial and error I'm convinced that I cannot go WOT for more than a few seconds or my float bowl will run dry. My need for speed is no longer an issue any more with my advanced age. I just want to get where I'm going doing the speed limit of 45mph and she does that just fine. I've learned to use the downhill slopes to gain momentum to make it up the next hill without the need for WOT. And against a strong headwind fighting my large windshield, I just don't get up to speed quite as quickly. Besides, there isn't much more left after about half throttle anyway so WOT just doesn't matter. I just had to learn how to drive it. All is well.

I might be way out in left field on this one, but if read and understood correctly how the enricher works, I turn my key on and wait about 30 seconds for the enricher to do it's thing before trying to start my scooter.
I read somewhere on this forum that when testing the enricher you have to give it some time and then measure the needle length from before to after a period of time. If the needle moves slowly then I gathered that maybe it needs time to get to the right length for a cold start which is why I started turning on the key and waiting a bit first before starting it up. It seems to help.
And if this query isn't too far off topic, maybe someone could enlighten me as to how exactly the enricher works. It's an electrical device but where is it getting it's information from? What tells the needle to move and how does it know how far to move?

I have a just over 1 gallon tank on mine. I always just put in exactly 1 gallon when I fill up and keep track of the mileage. I've averaged 72 MPG over the 800 miles that I've tracked. Sometimes I get 80 mpg, sometimes 65. It just depends on how many miles I drove until I filled up. And, my needle doesn't start dropping until the tank is about half empty.

Maybe it's just my eyes but it looks like from the top photo that your bike is pointing a little left (look at the luggage rack, if that's what that is at the very top of the photo), but the rear tire and belt cover is pointing straight away from the viewer of the photo. Draw a straight line right down the middle of the photo. Things don't line up. For whatever that means.

A starter motor take a LOT of current to run so yes it's going to spark and if the wire you use is smaller than the amount of current it can pass through it then yes it's going to get hot. Look at the size of the red wires on the strater relay. They're fairly large right? Use that size wire to jump it and it probably won't get so hot, at least right away. But it's still going to spark.
