Hello. I have been trying to figure out my fuel economy. I have calculated 120 mpg. Is that possible? I think I have a 1.6 gallon tank and at 3/4 of a tank I have driven 50 miles. Thanks in advance.

Just like many fuel tanks there are usually spots where the fuel gauge will drop slower or quicker due to where the fuel is in the tank . Also many of the speedos are off causing the mileage to be off . To be sure I would ride a route that you are sure about what the mileage is and only if you can then measure exactly how much fuel is in the tank before and after , that will give you your closest mpg . The most mine was was about to mpg . That was before the mods . Now is more like 60 to 65 mpg

Okay. Thanks I'll refill the tank and use my phones GPS to plan my routes. Yea 120 mpg just didn't sound right. But can say the gas needle doesn't move until I drive about at least 30 miles. BTW the way what is is average size tank for a 150cc scooter. Mines is a JCL. I'm not sure of the capacity. At a half tank it take .6 to fill it up.

I have a just over 1 gallon tank on mine. I always just put in exactly 1 gallon when I fill up and keep track of the mileage. I've averaged 72 MPG over the 800 miles that I've tracked. Sometimes I get 80 mpg, sometimes 65. It just depends on how many miles I drove until I filled up. And, my needle doesn't start dropping until the tank is about half empty.

If your gauge dosent start to drop until about half empty then your float is probably bad . Mine use to do that so I took the float out and it was in peices .

I have clocked every drop of gasoline into Zaporog. I ride in Los Angeles, frisky on street and not-the-slowest on freeways, have done 100+ mile runs on the Interstates, and after 10,000 miles I average 67.3 mpg. With a small tank, a little short of full can make a BIG difference. You need to track over several tankfuls.

Thanks in advance. i've heard the fuel injected 50's can get well over 100mpg. i doubt you could get that out of a 150 though. you sure that's miles and not kilometers?

Mine is the same way,,if I fill it up to the bar in the tank I can go 35 miles before the gauge will even move,,but once it starts moving it drops down pretty quick..lol

My 257cc gets 55 mpg pretty consistently. I find it funny that I think this is crummy mileage when I read posts about getting 80 mpg on a 150 until I remember that if I drive my 4 cylinder Mazda as an alternative I only get 18 mpg locally.
One thing to watch for when you do the mpg calculation is that your odometer is accurate. I was getting much better mileage until I realized that my actual mileage is only 87% of what the odometer shows.
