Not a scooter club, but I ride my sport/cruiser with a motorcycle group. They have been around for years, but only have 25 members, myself included. I joined them two months ago and have been on a few rides with them, and have only actually met maybe 12 members. They are invitation only, and most of them are riding big cruisers. You ride with them and they decide if your control and abilities fit with their agenda, which is just to do long rides. Typically, they ride 200 to 300 mile day trips, and sometimes longer multiday trips to restaurants, turn around and come back. No hot roding, rebel rousing or excessive drinking. Most of them are in the over 40 age group and have been riding for years. There have been a couple of sports bikes in the mix, but I'm the only sport/cruiser, so I might mix with one style of riding on the way out, and then the other group on the way back. Really just a loose group of folks who like to ride. Mostly though, I prefer to ride alone, or with just one other. It lets me stop and spend some time on my own without holding anyone up.

I am shocked and chagrined! Truly I thought that there would be more " tshirt, shorts, flipflops n mp3 player" answers. (well, maybe those riders are still in school for a few hours) I wear pretty much the same as the majority, silver mesh slide jacket with reflective piping and armor, modular helmet, armored gloves, jungle combat style boots -I know, I should have stiff leather uppers on them, but I do have to make some concession to the summer heat-, and heat-out body shirt. As has been said, heat-out under the mesh jacket keeps you cooler that a short sleeve shirt in the low humidity desert. In winter, I sometimes change to a heavier coat, but mostly just insert the thermal liner into the jacket. I should get some armor riding pants. That is on my list. Why do I wear this stuff? Because a dismount in traffic at 45mph from the scooter thumps the head and slides the body just as much as a dismount at 45mph from my FJ1200. Good riding, all

Misc. tools, tire plug kit, air compressor, powerpack (to run compressor and jump start scooters-not always my own). Spare belt, since I'm coming up on 8000 miles.(I know, I should change it out and use the old one as the spare. Prob do that this week) Still have room for a jug of cola or bag of chips under there. And I often carry a magnetic tank bag on the floor between the legs. In that? well, usually some beef jerky, candy, DVD's, various goodies...

Every bike has it fanatics..Me, I just like 2 wheels. My little brother, on the other hand, will tell you that if you are thinking of buying a non-harley, that your bike of choice is a piece of junk. If you are thinking of buying a harley, and it's not the same one that he rides, then he will tell you why that harley model is a piece of junk, and his is better. At least I've never found him dressing like a pirate. On the same thought.. If 4 wheels suck, and trikes are pretty cool, and 2 wheels are really cool, then shouldn't unicyclists be the ultimate cool?

I usually carry a small electric air pump and tire repair kit under the seat, and a portable 600 watt power station from PEP Boys. If the Jonway has a kick start, then you won't need the power unit. Of course, if you have this stuff, you probably won't need any of it. If you don't have spare parts, you will always need something...

Sure, no harm in stencil use. One of the premier motorcycle airbrush artists in Las Vegas uses multi piece vinyl on the more complex designs, and removes and blocks out areas as he paints.. I know, cause my shop makes his vinyls. Stenciling is just a technique, like sponge and brush combinations. It's the concept and end results that define the artist. Keep up the good work..

Congrats on a great purchase. Coming from a 150, it is a big step up, and probably one of the best scooters out there..

A mix of public transportation and scooter is a really good and economical way to get around. Sadly, the bus system in Vegas usually only gets me within an hour and a mile of where I work. Not their fault. I work in a localized industrial area and while I can see my workplace from the bus stop, I have to walk around several walled in areas to get there and the timetable puts me there early or late. Still good to have. Great to have a scooter for grocery and laundry runs. (And fun runs of course)

I'm proud to haul 24 bottles of beer, 18 outside of me and 6 inside of me... Is that why you use a scooter? Nope, just pokin' the bear... and I don't use a milk crate..Usually my choice is a magnetic tank bag. I have put metal tabs on the hump to clamp to. And occasionally, a backpack with the straps modified to fit the passenger area of the seat. Looks better, in my opinion, than most low priced top boxes..

I admit, it looks dorky. But some people don't share my good sense of style. Besides, sometimes that's how people say "keep away!!" That and aluminum foil headgear...

Sure, the old days sound nice, but do you remember the bad stuff? You know, actually having to have children so that you didn't have to get up to change the channel on the tv yourself?
