Sounds like you never plugged the PAIR hose up to me? Thats the huge hose coming from the chrome pipe by the valve cover..you need to plug that baby up I hear the exhaust coming through the tube..I just capped the back of my canister and that exhaust leak sound went away, unless you like dual exhaust:) Also sounds like its running a little rough there at idle,,might want to check your spark plug gap,,should be a smooth steady idle,,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba... You can even plug it at the head,,just cut a small piece of tin and drill two small holes in it for the bolts,,I just plugged the end of the hose and it works fine,,when this motor finally blows up I will change it around and plug it the right way

Bigger wheel less RPM at same speed,,if you have enough HP to push it like said earlier,,yes it will increase top speed. Smaller tire, more low end, higher RPM at same speed..I think Buford was thinking sprocket size on a motorcycle..

The FIRST PROBLEM you have is you do not have an AIR FILTER on the carb. Without one you will never get it to run right. So put on the AIR FILTER you are going to use Air Box or whatever. I saw the VIDEO and it is obvious when it does start and run it is LEAN due to no air filter(NOTICE HOW SLOW WHEN YOU LET GO OF THE THROTTLE IT DROPS THE RPMS) that is because of to LEAN of a condition. So adjusting anything is fruitless. Once you put on the AIR FILTER you will cut some air off and its then that you can do your adjustments. Alleyoop Well... this would have been helpful a few days ago! I've got just a basic pod-filter that was fitted to it. I'll try it with that on there and report back. Thanks!! Pod filters are like running no filter at all,,they have little to no restriction,,a GY6 will never run right with the addition of a pod unless its jetted and tuned.

Laid down metallic lacquer on a replacement nose section, and I'm now letting it "bake" in the breezy 105 degree desert day. Well I was going to paint my tank last night but the darn thing will only come halfway out after all the bolts are off,,guess i need to remove the rear fender/tail light assembly to get it all the way out,,at least it slid far enough forward that the sending unit popped right up and out BTW-I am having great results with the Duplicolor Enamel spray bombs,,i did the tail gate on my truck gloss black,,hit it with 2 coats color and 2 coats Enamel clear,,waited two weeks and rubbed it with some light compound than buffed and polished it,,it looks really good Stay cool down there in that sand pile Spandi!

Nice,, Last night I adjusted my valves,,the intake was a little tight(.003) but the exhaust was fine,,thats after 1000 miles. Also I removed my carb and tried to put a larger pilot jet in but the jet I got was the wrong type. The scooter starts and runs better after the intake valve was loosened up a hair.
I also made a float for my tank sensor out of an old Ford Ranger sending float,,had to cut it in half but it works good and now I don't have to worry about the stupid Chinese float disintegrating in the tank causes fuel/carb issues in one year...lol..if you have not removed or upgraded your float it will happen sooner of later unless they changed the material they make them out of...

Great ideas so far,, I'm very interested in the PLASTEX,,also I like the idea of the PVC cement,,it seems like it melts the plastic together as well as cementing it..very nice. I have a small crack in my side plate that wraps my seat,,it has no starting point,,its in the middle of the piece,,i may just try the fiber mesh tape and some PVC cement for that on the underside only.

ARGH!!!! Hooked up a 220CCA battery and still no go. Tore it down and put the extra base gasket in and turned it over by hand a few times since it's late and dont want to wake the neighbors. Compression still feels really high. I'll hook the battery back up in the morning and see how it goes but it really doesn't feel much different. iicr millsc also had to upgrade the wire to get his to work. Yeah thats true,, Pulling all those amps in a small wire will just melt the insulation off the wire and cause more issues...I would upgrade the main wires going from the battery to the starter and ground to atleast 6-10 gauge..you figure 12 gauge is only good for maybe 25 amps..lol..and the longer the run he more resistance.

I found a small crack in one of my plastics yesterday,,did some research and found a few methods for repairing these cracks using fiberglass dry wall tape, two part epoxy,ABS(black cement for plumbing),drill holes for reinforcing wire, bondo, sanding, primer and paint. Just wanted to start a thread on this to see some of your ideas,,because its only a matter of time before your Chinese scooter has a cracked panel,,believe me when I say that,,lol

Say, where did...bugger, I forget his name now. He used to live in Puerto Rico but was moving to Flor 'cause PR was such a stink-pit of crime (including the cops). Anyone know where he ended up? Is he close to ramblin'? >'Kat Are you talking about Walter from Scooter Elements maybe?? Yeah he is in the process of moving and starting a new business,,no more scooter elements as he said they where starting to sell fakes and the boss didn't want him helping people after 5 o clock.

Too bad I aint close,, I would do all that for you plus the gear lube, all filters, plug, lube cables and speedo, tighten everything up for $100 really wish i could find someone down here that enjoy's working on these scoots. i can't let it go too much longer, scoot is hard to start, i guess i will have to do it myself. Its probably just the intake valve is a little tight,,I check mine every 1000 miles or so,,last time I checked my intake was down to maybe .003,,when the scoot was hot it would need a blip of throttle to start,,now it just starts with the button,,like a Honda..lol

Try using higher octane fuel or an actane booster,,sounds like the pinging is from fuel quality,,also might get an Iridium plug, better coil and CDI.Another Idea would be a fan scoop, and wrap your header pipe..as for the cooler I have no experience with them..

Anybody know where I can get a new float gasket for my carb,,I noticed it was pretty crushed last night when I took it apart,,felt a little gas leak off the edge of the bowl,,so I used a small amount of Indian Head gasket shellac and its good for now? Dont really need the whole rebuild kit as the jets would be wrong anyway,,just the rubber gasket.
Thanks!

Na,,that little gasket aint gonna do much if your compression is that high...maybe the more you run it the better it will get??
