Just a history lesson here from our perspective, but when we started importing parts into the US and having parts manufactured in China for us, there was absolutely no rhyme or reason or structure to the chinese scooter parts industry here in the US. There were a few importers at the time, of which many have come and gone, and the greats still live on, like PartsForScooters, but no one had any way of identifying what a scooter body/chassis was, and no one knew what that code on the engine stamp was about. In China, there were some chinese words loosely associated with certain chassis styles, which our agent in china translated for us. There were, of course, many translations possible, so we chose one's that sounded the best for us here. Over the years, we noticed many others were using our names, and even scooter importers started calling certain models our names which we had posted publicly. None of these have we asserted intellectual property up to this date and share freely. I was not aware of anyone else in the US that had these names when I first posted them. I can say with certainty, that we were the first one's to crack the chinese engine code, and post it publicly for everyone to use. It's made life much easier for everyone in this industry. I had happened to talk with a chinese government official that explained to me that in china they use a national engine identifier as opposed to a company wide identifier like the rest of the world does. This being that they are a communist country I suppose, and there are no patents or trademarks there. Anyways, just wanted to clarify that, and yes, we are a "parts dealer", (actually an importer/distributor and manufacturer), but we also originated in the US many of those chassis names and the engine code decoder....as far as I'm aware of. My nephew's scooter was bogging today. Pulled the seat off, checked the carb attachments, checked the manifold, everything was nice and tight. Started to squeeze up each vacuum line, got lucky on the first one I checked. The vacuum line from manifold to fuel petcock had a hole in it. It was cut too long and melted on the head. I cut it back, had plenty left to zip tie loosely to the frame to prevent it happening again. Fired her up, took her for a test ride, no bog. Here's a pic of the hole, looks like it melted a bit, stuck, then got torn free. That's why many of us toss the junk petcock and install a manual shutoff. No vacuum lines. I don't have any vacuum lines on my scoot.

Don't everyone rush in to help at the same time now...... I just removed and drained the gas tank of it's 3 year old gas. Gotta love that smell, second only to brake fluid. Tomorrow the carb comes off and although I hate to spend money, A can of carb cleaner will be bought to flush out the system...... Nothing quite like that ethanol buildup to hinder startup. I expect a decent greenish color Good Luck and be safe out there!!! Listen to rcq, he knows a lot , just as much as the ones you mentioned. Of course don't buy an ultrasonic cleaner if you don't have one , lol. 3 year old gas in a carb is never a good thing. I just cleaned a carb with 1 yr old gas and it was gummed up beyond belief. So if your wanting to start fresh like you said , I would check the carb and if its gummed up pretty bad I would either buy a rebuild kit or a new carb. Other than hoses , fluids , and ,drive belt , everything else should be fine. Of course the battery is more than likely junk.

I spinned the back wheel and stopped it suddenly and there is a thud something inside the wheel I don't know where what could that be guys.... Thanks for all the help lately The back wheel should spin freely . if it were the brakes being too tight , the wheel would still not stop with a thud. Does it actually stop and not spin any more . or does it just feel as if something catches and keep spinning. I think I know what Horace is talking about. If I'm not mistaken , there is usually some play in the wheel before the gears catch " not sure why" I guess its the great China engineering. That could be what you are witnessing.

Alright, I have some results from my oil temp dipstick. 150cc air cooled scooter. Riding near midnight to work and work to home in the early morning, 3.8 miles, has a consistent reading of 50-60 (122-140 F) degrees Celsius. Riding from work to home in the hot afternoon, 3.8 miles, has a reading of 60-70 (140-158) degrees Celsius. These figures are only from 2 seperate occasions. I hope this helps. I tested the dipstick when I got with hot water and it was fairly accurate. And I live in south Texas. Nights are in the mid 80s, afternoon high 90s to 100s Quick trips will keep the Temps pretty low . If I ride on a 5 mile round trip , my Temps will usually stay under 160 f.

You all do know this is much like wrastlin---- a Scripted Television show with Drama added to get views....... 1320 is a more " genuine " JMHO. Look it up...... A decent dragster should hit at least 150 at the finnish line. that would be around a 10 second car depending on reaction time....... I agree some is scripted , but the races are real . A drag car on a prepped track is different from a car on an unusual prepped street. 150 is wicked fast on the street ?

I'm also a huge Green Day fan . mostly there very old stuff. Most don't know they were making records in the late 80's. They had, 1000 hrs ep, Slappy EP, and, 39 Smooth LP. They put them together and made, 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. That album and " Kerplunk " were the best albums !! Great lyrics and great songs . I have the old vinyl records of the ep's and LP's up to and including " Dookie " . after that they still made great albums like " insomniac" and " nimrod" . Warning was good except for the song " warning" that was the first song out of all the albums up I could not listen to . American idiot was good and so was 21's century break down , but the recently came out with 3 albums .they released one after the other in 3 consecutive months. They were the worst albums ever. Maybe 1 good song on each !! . they also released an album under " Foxboro Hot Tubs " the music on it was actually pretty good . very different from their Green day albums, but the best were from the late 80's - early 1992 .

I have good spark whenever I test, but the problem is that the failure is happening at speed and then clears up once I come to a stop. The scoot turns right back over first try every time, but then will die again, sometimes right away, sometimes I make it all the way home. But the loss of power always happens while moving, never while standing still or at idle. The vibration of the engine can cause the blug boot to come slightly detached from the plug . that happened to me before. And yes the float in the carb bowl could cause the needle valve to close off too soon and therefore you have lack of fuel when riding. It could be a number of things but we have to start somewhere
