Thanks for all the help lately That's why it is always better to have oil in the gearbox. Unfortunately. Better open it up and see what's wrong. For a 150: remove the CVT cover, belt, clutch. Remove the 6 or so 8mm (?) bolts that go around in a "C" shape. Remove the cover (trying to not tear the paper gasket). If any oil is still in there, have a drip pan to catch it. Check to see what is busted. Take photo and post here.

Any issues or rubbing sounds if you push it around (the whole scooter) while just moving it. Push it up the driveway for example..... It maybe no issue at alll......
In fact, spinning the wheel backwards results in the exact same condition you have described........ JMHO
No need to open things up to see whats wrong if there is no problem....... Just sayn.

Thanks for all the help lately The back wheel should spin freely . if it were the brakes being too tight , the wheel would still not stop with a thud. Does it actually stop and not spin any more . or does it just feel as if something catches and keep spinning. I think I know what Horace is talking about. If I'm not mistaken , there is usually some play in the wheel before the gears catch " not sure why" I guess its the great China engineering. That could be what you are witnessing.

By no means am I trying to diagnose an issue without more information......
Personally from day one, my rear tire has had a similar issue when spun...... It does spin freely but, if you spin it in reverse to does seem to Thunk/Thud when it comes to a stop. For lack of a better term.
I REALLY need to get some batteries for my camera and learn how to post pics/vids. Things COULD be perfectly fine with Mr. Jams scoot. that little bit of info does not warrant a tear down IMO.
A new rider ripping into the case for a possible issue is not something I would generally recommend. Then again he did ask for all possible help.....
For example, lat's say there is a hub bearing issue---- Or a brake issue, Tearing open the gear case is not the answer......
I maybe Very wrong and look forward to learning from my mistakes!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!

So when you turn the wheel it doesn't make abnormal sounds, and I'm guessing you are trying to diagnose things based on what you think is correct or not. I think there is actually no problem here, I have the same thing happen on all the scooters I have, and I've seen the inside of every part of all of them and there is no issues, it's just the sound of the gears coming to a stop. Did you think it would make no sound at all? I thought so too, but upon close investigation it's just because the gears are not flush, there is always some sort of tiny clearance, and the weight of the tire changes the sound to a thud but it really is a lighter sound, ever tried turning it with the wheel off? It should sound lighter it it's just the gears.
I may be misjudging the symptom though, please take a video.

I spinned the back wheel and stopped it suddenly and there is a thud something inside the wheel I don't know where what could that be guys.... Thanks for all the help lately Jamo - as you can tell, there isn't enough info in your question for people to be able to help much. I went back and read again and tried to guess exactly what you were saying. Did you mean you spin the wheel, it spins, and then suddenly stops with a thud? If so, something is probably wrong in the gearbox and the only way to figure THAT out is to remove the cover to the gearbox and take a look. If you DO that - take pix and post them so we all have better info and can help more. Removing the gearbox cover is pretty simple - unless you have never done anything on your scoot like removing the CVT belt. Here is a video about doing MORE than just taking a look (actually changing gears); hope the part that is relevant to you helps: Again, just be careful - if you tear the paper gasket you will need a new one (cheap, but your scoot will be down until you get one)

If you grab the wheel and rapidly move it back and forth, you'll hear a thud every direction change. There's a bit of play. Any other "thuds" aren't normal.

I admit mine does it forward and reverse also--- kind of a spin then an abrupt stop with a clunk. This is normal IMHO....
Kudos to you for being vigilant in checking every detail Mr Jam!!!!!!!!!
Keep it up and, PLEASE as a lot of questions!!!!!!!! Do some research and above all,
Have fun while learning something new!!!!!!

In going to have to go with normal to. My old scoot did this as well. Spin the tire any direction and it free spun for a second or two then "thunk". I guess of there's no grinding sounds or hard metalic jumbleing (like sockets in a bag) and theres oil its probably fine.

That is 100% correct . that's what I was talking about. The wheel has play either way before the gears seem to catch " not sure why" but yes , the will will thud as the gears catch " or whatever is going on" as you spin the wheel back and fourth. This seems to be somewhat normal.
