Hello All, My buddy and I are planning on doing the 61mm upgrade and we are deciding on parts. My buddy is a heavy car tuner so he has a lot of contacts so that helps. so far we have decided to get: NCY 61mm Big bore kit NCY 61mm Head which we will have HAND PORTED as well Now we need advise on a carburetor, we are thinking on getting the Hoca 30mm or 32mm Carb which are not cheap, I seen some that look nice on amazon but nor sure about quality. Also on the cam we need advise, I was thinking about getting the NCY Performance Cam My buddy thinks the A10 Racing Cam Shaft by MRP is the way to go. If you guys have better suggestion they are welcome. Not sure if we are missing anything else. Thank you all for the great help it is much appreciated!!! our goal is 70MPH on flats and keep her reliable. We plan on gearing as well but we will look at that after the install.

TBA , I believe I could have got the same results with a 30 mm carb as I did with my 32mm carb . I can't be certain but I do believe so. I'll leave the choice of the 32mm vs 30mm up to you and your buddy . as for the cam , if you have the extra cash , I'd buy an A9 and an A10 , and see which one give the best performance. The 70mph mark will be tough , especially with the ten inch wheels. I'd def get the tallest tire you can fit on the ten inch wheel . this will help with your 70mph goal. Your buddy is right , the carb def makes a difference. What you want to do is be able to burn as much fuel as possible without running too rich. Slightly rich is fine. Also make sure you get a true free flow exhaust. Some of the performance headers out there are no different from the stock header " just chrome" . I can't wait to see your results.

I like this uni setup . I made it from PVC parts and rubber a rubber connection . I also made the same one for a member over the summer .

I think he will be able to hit 70MPH as long as he gets a little more fuel and air feeding that 61mm..my 60mm Taiwan BBK will do 65 MPH on a stock carb,,well it has a 120 main so its not completely stock.I would do taller gears also,it will be hard to get stock gears doing 70MPH unless he is taching way into the red.

I should have added we already have the free flow exhaust and uni filters and race variators. Yeah I do realize that 70MPH for my scoot will be very tough especially since my retro scoot is not aerodynamic at all... my buddies however looks like a race motorcycel with 12" or 13" wheels so he will have better results.
does any know if the NCY Cam is an A9 Cam?
We might just go with the Hoca 32mm, but that is still up to debate. Either 32 or 30 I hope it will fit in the space we have... :-)

Check the inner diameter of your performance exhaust at the header. If it isn't bigger than stock, you'll want to open it up, perhaps even fab a new header pipe. Often the performance exhausts are choked by a small I.D. header.
Get the strongest valve springs you can find. If you want to red line, you will suffer valve float without the strongest springs.
Are you going to stroke it as well, or just do the BBK and flow mods?

My buddy has a lot of experience tuning 400WHP to 1200WHP cars. It seem the NCY head comes with springs. we might not even go to the 61mm BBK we might just get the NCY 58MM ceramic coated for higher RPMS. He his thinking higher RPM for more power but less torque but for higher speeds you need power not torque, that way we might be able to keep the stock gearing, I will most likely need to change them
we are now looking now at A12 race cams, hopefully we have the list finalized by Monday. We may go with 30 or 32mm hoca carb with hoca intake so there is no flow restrictions.

I like that you actually found a 32mm intake manifold ! I only have a 30mm manifold. I couldn't find a 32mm four years ago .

Those are some nice ncy kits. I love the ncy racing head I have . I'm sure they make the ceramic 61mm kits also. Just remember the bigger the bore the higher the engine temps. Since we are using the same engine cases with the same amount of oil , the bigger the bbk the higher the engine temps will be . I can't tell you exactly how much the temps will rise per mm above stock but this is true. That's why after you go so big , an oil cooler is recommended.

Hi All, about to place another order, but while talking to one of the vendors they are telling me that Hoca is way better than NCY. Obviously they carry Hoca only... lol
anyway I need to order 61mm valves head and I am debating between the two. My gut is telling me to go with the NCY as I think it comes with better valves... anyway I would love for others to chime in.
thank you
