So orders have been placed. I will post pics when it all comes in. My self and my buddy are going it a bit different. He will not go big bore and I will. For my self i ordered: Ncy 61mm head which I will have a local motorcycle race shop port and do a valve job on it Ncy 61mm big bore kit Ncy 30mm cvk carb Hoca A14 type 2 camshaft 30mm ncy aluminum manifold with erg erase I do not think I am missing anything. My total cost is at $450 in parts right now... But I got the scoot new for very cheap... What NCY kit did you purchase? As far as I know, NCY is the only manufacturer that makes a 61mm BBK that doesn't require any boring of the case.. If you got the the NCY 61mm, you don't have to bore the case. EDIT* Also, i would not take the head anywhere and have anything done... It's a brand new quality kit and IMO, you don't want it ported any more than it already is, it's matched for that 61mm piston compression ratio I think. In addition, before you try the 30mm, I suggest using the stock carb and just upjetting to a 108~120 and have a 38 slow jet on hand in case she needs a little more at WOT. Finally, I recommend to looking into having an A9 camshaft on hand. An A14 might be a little too low in the power/torque band for what you're looking for.... Remember, A8~A15 all work in the GY6 125/150cc, However, the GY6 is used in everything from scooters to dune buggies....

dmartin95 yes that is correct. the NCY 61mm does not need boring We are going to get the most power from the cylinder head, thus we find it important that the head are hand ported for efficiency which would increase overall hp. Also doing a valve job which is to resurface the mating surfaces of the poppet valves and their respective valve seats that control the intake and exhaust of the air/fuel mixture that powers the motion of the pistons after the start cycle. This assure maximum power

Also, I was under the impression the the NCY head come ported and polished.... Perhaps I'm thinking of a different brand... Why are you going with an A14 Cam?

dmartin95 , sorry man these terms got me confused too. What I meant I am going with the big bore kit ncy 61mm where ad my friends won't upgrade ccs at all. Why am I goin with A14 well that is tough to explain as I made my decision based from what I read online if it is all true. Anyway from what I read the A14 performs best on hand ported heads and also it makes its power from 6500 rpm too abot 8k rpm and peak power is at 7500 rpm. Since I do not plan to go much higher rpm then 7700 rpm i figure it would work for me, but really I don't know. Supposedly the other type of cams like a9 make peak power at 8500 rpm.

TBA , it sems that with most cams the scoot should still have top power near 7500 rpms , at least that's what everyone , even the mods seem to suggest . I would imagine when we go with a bigger bore and all the other mods , that the power bands would slightly change , bit I don't think anyone has any real numbers on what they would be . especially with all the different configurations there are .

so my NCY Big Valve Cylinder Head cam in. rapped in some brown paper and did not have an NCY box. How do i know it is NCY? Anyway I took it to the machine shop and which usually works on high end motorcycles and cars and they said this is officially the worse head they ever saw. they said that they will be able to make it much better. The good thing they were so exited about the little head, lol... Here are some pics of the head and the shop.
as a side note the rest of my order came in, NCY 30mm carburator with no NCY box??? ? Intake manifold looks very nice NCY BBK is in NCY box.

If you can get them to contact buford1488, he might be willing to share some of his secrets. He has the most experience hand porting gy6 heads on a flow tester. AFAIK, he hung up his toolbelt last year, wish I had gotten a head ported by him!

See the lines on the exhaust port ? Ncy would smoothen those out. Atleast that's what I would expect.

Those with the skill to do a good port job are rare, those with gy6 experience are rarer. Example, leaving a lip on certain curves and edges greatly increases flow, and prevents pressure differential turbulence. Knowing how to shape the lip comes only from experience.

I brought the head here. They seem like a home run. I think that is pretty much all they do. carlquistengines.com/George when u ordered your ncy head, did it come in a ncy box?

Actually that may be the racing head. I can't read the box ,and I'm not sure of the valve size on the racing head.

Check this out from 2012 . i had already did the exhaust , cdi ,CVT , carb, uni and coil . this is when I purchased my bbk and head . I haven't been at 225 in a while , lol. I wish I get get out of the 210 range back down to about 175 or so ,lol. At this point I didn't know you didn't have to bore the case for a 60 mm and some 61mm bbks . I'm now on the 4th year with the bbk setup. scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/51116
