When I got mine with 1 mile a year ago, it max speed gps was 47mph with 10 gram rollers. Rpms were 6,500 and I was just seeing what the top speed was in a short run.
After that I did a LOT of neighborhood riding everyday. Lots of stop and go staying 25mph the first couple hundred miles then I changed oil and increased to max of 35mph stop and go traffic.
Do everything you can to PDI everything. For me electrical I had no problems and didn't worry about it, until one morning my headlights wouldn't come on.
All I had to do was 6 or so screws to take off the headlights with the top part still on. It was the gang connector going to the headlights, it was loose and blades needed tightening a little for a tighter connection.
I had 100 miles on mine and I was already wanting to change rollers/sliders try different jets and put it on. Just use some will power and WAIT til its broke in. Got to know how the performance is stock before trying new stuff to see if it improves.
Point is just enjoy the ride do maintenance often in break in and then after that go nuts or be conservative.

I'm glad I started with a china scooter. Its been a lot of headache and checking stuff but I've learned a lot.
I could only imagine if I paid for a name brand I wouldn't have learned as much, I'd probably be to afraid to fix anything myself and shell out money at a shop.
I'd have to have a big name scooter and own it as long to really know how much better it would be for more money

Today I took the time to finally clean the inside out of my CVT. Its been black from belt dust accumulation and grease.
I also: Changed back to 15 gram sliders Cleaned everything with brake cleaner and wiped off with rag Roughed up glazed variatior and clutch bell Tried to troubleshoot kick start, I ended up just taking it out completely. Charged battery
Drained gear oil then took off gear housing to see what gears I have.
I have 13 tooth turning a 40 tooth final drive to the wheel.
This was a lot easier to do than I thought, it helped watching Utube videos changing out final drive gears.
My belt had a rib missing from it so I changed back to the original bando belt. Had on a gates powerlink. I have another powerlink coming in.
Felt good to take off the CVT and get some good maintenance done.
Last upgrades I'm doing is taller gears (when I get some money to buy them, new rear Avon tire on the way, and new belt when it comes in.

Looking at the pictures, the snug fit one should tell you its not going to look pretty and cover it the same with a windshield. Get a bigger one. With a windshield depending on how high it rises is going to go up that high from the front wheel, or have to use material from the back to compensate. I have this cover for my 150 with windshield slipstreamer 40. www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycle-Cover-Large/16817257Its good to keep the sun and bird crap off, rain though... not so much. It does cover my whole scooter with windshield and trunk on! The bottom comes down half-way past the wheels. This would be too large for your scooter with a windshield, I'm just throwing out ideas. It would work, just would be a little large for it. It looks like you want a quality cover to keep it dry? Then don't get this particular kind. Somebody will chime in for a better answer

I think I'll try this for my next project! I like it, cheap, will cool the engine more, and would bring a good feeling of accomplishment when done. Except I wouldn't go that far into body work on it. I'd fill it to make it stay on better, sand it, prime, and paint. That would be good enough for me. That guy did a good job for that scoop to blend in that well. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/394

I have on 10's/14's gram sliders in rode a couple days. Top rpms about 7,000-7,200 going about 50+. Top speed was 56.8mph gps 56 mpg though I have been riding the same so I know its the increased rpms lowering the mileage. My truck driving co-workers think I'm crazy trying out different weights, for them 56mpg is great Not for me though. I want the best I can reasonably and be able to maintain 55mph when I'm on the highway........so it leads me back to the 14 gram sliders that I can get 65mpg and maintain higher speeds. Also I like the "oomph" I get from heavier weights, I don't need much throttle to take off compared to the 10 gram sliders. Which required higher rpms. From all this experimenting and trial and error with roller/sliders weights I have made full circle to where I started. I like 14 gram sliders for the best top end performance while maintaining a decent gas mileage for my riding. For the very best mileage I'd go back to 16 gram rollers. And even better I would need to leave for work sooner and ride the speed limit and piss off people who can't stand NOT going 10mph over. 16's sliders were better without the annoying RATTLE, but the rollers I got upper 60's for gas mileage. My top rpms for 16's rollers was about 6,600 rpms any wind would reduce down to 6,400 or so but once down hill or a back draft then it gets interesting.

I think my stock tires are Kei Rin or some crap like that, I'm sure its widely mass produced for china scooters. I'll have to look again Avon, all I think is its a make up company. I drive past an Avon seller with a boat that says "I love Avon". The boat is just in their yard. Just a side note Avon tires got to be better than the china stock. My second choice would have been the shinkos for the price being lower. I searched around on that motorcycle shop first then searched for the Avon tires to find better deals and the ebay was the best. That site would have cost me at least $70 with shipping. I was surprised to find it for $48 free shipping on ebay. But I hear more bad than good from ebay. Kenda tires, I know we had a set of brand new kenda golf cart tires 10" and they didn't last long last summer. They wore down quick, of course we ride our golf carts at least 12 miles a day on gravel, road, and grass. With most of it being hot road in summer isn't too surprising the kenda tires wore out quick. At end of summer had bald tires down to the fibers in places. Golf Pro tires on work well so far, but its been 75 degrees at most, so will have to find out. My scooter will never go mph but I judged it as some measure of quality.

I got 3,200 miles on my scooter and the back tire has very little tread in the middle where it ride (nearing bald ) I got an Avon 130-60-13 tire coming in. I like the tread, 93mph speed rated and price $48 on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/330904173842?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649I have a 6 inch C clamp is there any regular tools I can use to replace my rear tire? I was just wondering if I could do it without tire irons. I'm sure its probably worth it and easier with tire irons. Front tire has a good tread on there so I'll let it be. Also replaced tubeless tire stems.

Rode to and from work the long way home. 46miles total I filled up to see mileage. 54mpg I expected it to go down
Accelleration is improved, BUT I don't like it. My tach/hour meter has been stuck on cycling through the digits on its own so I don't know what exact rpms. But on the scooter tach it showed 7,000 at 40mph most the time 7,500rpms The rpms are too high at lower speeds for me. I'll try 10's/14's next and if I don't like it I'm going back to the 14's.
Ok at 25mph rpms are about 5,500 Top speed was 54.9mph this morning 58F probably 7,500rpms or more Up to 45mph acceleration is better but it takes a while to get to 50+ I don't like wasting gas revving so high and just to go 54.9mph tops.

I put in the 10gram sliders. Haven't test rode yet. But started up and revved up a little and I can tell its going to be better takeoff.
I will find out in the morning if its not raining going to work and coming home. 50% or less chance of rain I ride.
Also I put my Slipstreamer windshield back on. It makes a better ride. Had to see what mileage I get without windshield and trunk. It will be a month til I get taller gears. Got that mortgage and bills to pay.

A lot of auto parts stores you can take your oil and dump it in their oil tank.
Advance and Autozone I know for a fact. I usually get an odd or end on that trip to.
If these scooters had an actual oil filter like a car, that would be nice and I'd expect a little longer interval for an oil change.
Like skuttadawg said more often for PDI and durig break-in period then 1,000 miles after that. Or when you check the oil and it doesn't look good. Its a good indicator of your engine

I couldn't fit a larger variator in there! 115mm it takes up all the space. The drive plate is the same size too.

Variators do vary in weight. My stock variator weighed more than my current racing variator 115mm from partsforscooters. I also found that my rpms went DOWN when I upgraded to the 115mm on mine. I got a postage scale and it weighed less too. The overall affect was lower rpms with the same rollers/sliders. A lower weight variator will have lower rpms. From the old forum I posted: Note: I was still breaking in my engine so I was going for heavier rollers/sliders to go faster at lower rpms. I didn't go above a certain rpm then for the break in.Re: roller/slider weights......post your results h « Reply #212 on May 23, 2012, 5:30pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I spent some time and wrote down weights of variator parts along with their rollers. This kit www.ebay.com/itm/110868117415?_trksid=p5197.c0.m61913 gram roller weighed 12.8 grams Variator main weighed 250.8 grams Variator roller cover weighed 145.1 grams bearing cylinder part weighed 109.4 grams Total = 580.8 grams This one I have on now, 3,500 Rpm's to move but going up to 25mph the max is 5,000. Around 4000 rpm's cruising in between 10-20mph for the most part. Stock rollers 10.8 grams Variator main weighed 271 grams Roller cover weighed 139.5 grams bearing cylinder weighed 109.4 grams Total = 585.6 grams Racing Variator Set www.partsforscooters.com/GY6_4-st....&category=74091Rollers weighed 12.1 grams Variator main weighed 238.8 grams roller cover weighed 128.7 grams bearing cylinder weighed 108.3 grams Total 547.5 grams The drive plate I didn't think to weigh but its stock. I had it on with the 10.8 gram rollers and RPM's were way too high 4,000 to move at a stop. I only tested with the cover off. RPM's just seemed too high to me to be reasonable. At 106 miles so 25mph is as fast as I go right now Read more: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=13775&page=8#ixzz2RnyGJ2lYHad stock variator with 11.8 gram rollers, it was noticeably slower acceleration but cruising 25 even 30mph RPM's stay around 4500 to 5,000 rpm's. So I ran at a little higher speeds due to the lower rpms. Put on the Racing variator today the variator and 10.8 gram rollers with the bearing weighed 540 grams. Result = WAY TOO HIGH RPM's. I was going 25 mph and RPM's were 6,000 to 6500 RPM's! So, I weighed my stock set up with the original rollers 10.8 grams. It was 589 grams total. So I kept the Racing variator, put on the heavier variator star cover with 12.8 gram rollers. TOTAL = 560 grams Result = better acceleration than original set up. Also was going at around 4,500 to 5000 rpm's going 35mph. For my break in I'm concerned with RPM's and not exactly speed. I'm bringing back this sticky title from the old forum, but since this is a new forum = new thread
I'll start off with 14 gram sliders 245 pounds no windshield on, no trunk on 6,600-7,000 rpms on highway at 53-56 mph Upgrades at bottom 62-65mpg 16 gram rollers/sliders were about the same except with rollers I had better gas mileage and slightly lower rpm range I've tried rollers from 9's, 10's, 12's, 13's, 16's
I liked 16's the best I had lower rpms and the same top end and better mileage. Also with rollers I have NEVER got 7,200+ rpms at any speed or take off. I got 10 gram sliders I'm going to try next.

I ride 44 miles to/from work a day On the second day I stop at the gas station and fill up 1.5 gal right before I get home. I'd say 100+ miles on my 1.6 gal tank
